I read it. Both of the stories seem pretty out there. I am goint to pick Halo2 though because i am big on multiplayer. Especially[/i] in shooting games.

Both games are good for different reasons. I hate fan boys of one or the other putting something down that most likely they have not even played yet.

I have only been playing Halo2 online until last night I played the campaign for the first 2 levels. Holy crap the cut scene story is awesome ! And I almost felt overwhelmed by the oncoming attack. Mind you I have played Halo through on legendary , and now I am playing Halo2 on normal But thats good because I love a challenge.

I dunno , maybe GTA would be even better if there was online play ?

They arn't even compareable if you think about it. They are 2 different genres. You can compare each of them to other "legendary" games in those genres. Say GoldenEye and uhhh ummm GTA3 but anyways they are designed and played very differently and should be treated as such.

The only one I've played is Halo 2 so I cant make a fair judgment.

I haven't played Halo 2, so I can't make a completely fair call on this.  However, the GTA series (since GTA3 anyway) has done a lot more different things for video games than Halo (the first one anyway) ever did.  Sure, you may think Halo was the best FPS ever (I really didn't think it was all that special though).  However, GTA practically created a new genre.  It took video games to the point where you no longer wonder what you can do but rather what you cannot do.  In that sense, it is MUCH more groundbreaking than Halo, Halo 2, Half Life 2, et al.  Sure, it has its flaws, but overall I think GTA (since GTA3) is probably a lot bigger of a deal than another pretty FPS, no matter how good it may be.

Now, as to which one is "better" in terms of how much fun they are....  That's completely a matter of taste.  I think you know where my vote goes.

I agree. Halo wasnt the best FPS ever. But its damn good. Seriously , the sales numbers prove that ! And it isnt all about hype either. I think you are right about the GTA series , but I really didnt like the aiming system in GTA 3. I like the fact that you can explore the city and do whatever you want. I mean you dont even have to do the missions to have fun But Halo had a great story (IMO) and so far Halo 2 has an even better story.
And playing offline is just the tip of the Halo2 iceberg. Online play and forming groups of friends or clans is awesome. Its great to interact with people from around the globe. Yeah I know its just a FPS , but damn it ! Its really fun.

Wrong. Niether are possibly the best game ever made. If I knew more about more games I would go on about which is the best or possibly the best, but I know for sure neither are possibly the best.

That is just an opinion. And in order for them to be the best game ever made they had to beat out another game that use to be the best game ever made. So it seems like an endless cycle of bests.
