I was just out at the mall and noticed that Nintendo has a "Llimited Edition" "Tattooed"GBA SP.
All it is is the "Limited" platinum SP with a few tribal tattoos decaled on it.
Personally i try to pick up these "Special","Limited" and "Colectors" Edition items but i have given up with Nintendo.
Not only do they make tons of different ones but they also produce alot of each one.

Wasn't  the platinum GameCube "Limited" Edition? IF so thats crap because you can still by them in the store.

And I agree with you Nintendo makes way to many of them. But then again for the N64 and GameCube they need all the help they can get in sales. :-/

Yes there was a "Limited Edition" platinum GCN i own it and the matchin GBA.
I decided when i get an SP it was going to have to be Platinum too. But Then the NES one came out andnow i saw this Tattoo one. So i will probably gfet the tattoo one just in hopes of it becoming obscure. Then i will get the NES one for a gift(hopefully). And will end up gettting a platinum one used really cheap and picking up a box later.

Here is a pic of 3 of the systems i am talking about.
There is probably around 20 of them out there.

Is the platinum GameCube in the stores still is the "Limited" Edition one?

There are very few US "limited edition" releases that I think are worth a damn. The first is the NES SP simply for the kewlness factor. Honestly though, the only one that I think is hard to find is the lime green SP that was a Target exclusive last christmas. I've only ever seen one.

I wonder how much the limited editions add to the total sales. I would think only collectors would buy another system just because the color is different.

I wouldn't count on the tattoo sp becoming rare. I've seen ads for it for months now.

In Holland we have 5 Limted Editions, Tatto, Nes, Pink, Zelda and Mario vs Donkey ong. A bit of overkill.

In Japan, the orange one was actually a limited edition that came with the Pokemon game. I wanted a Pearl Pink one for a while, but I wasn't going to blow $150 on a GBASP. :/ (Japanese systems are just a wee bit too expensive.) From what I know, these are the Japanese Limited Edition ones:

Pearl White
Pearl Pink
Pearl Blue
Achamo Orange
NES
Naruto (Orange with the Naruto logo and blue key pads)

Found the info I need. :3 The Achamo Orange is to celebrate the 5th year anniversary of Pokemon, the little Pokemon Achamo appears inside the GBASP itself and on the packing box. The Pearl White version is a limited edition for the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. :3

That's it with SP, but the regular GBA had a limited edition Hello Kitty one... Umm... It's pink. T_T; That's about all I could tell you about it. Oh yeah, it came with the Hello Kitty Miracle Fashion Maker game cartidge. That's about all I know.

Limited Edition PS2:
Sakura Pink
Ocean Blue (pearly/powder blue)
Pearl White
Platinum
Playstation X (not PS1, but would you call that limited though?)
Clear Black
Grand Tusimo (I'm misspelling this) PS2
Gundam Z
FFXI-Online (I don't know which edition it was though)

The Grand Tusimo one is actually a Pearl White PS2, probably with a logo or something. Gundam Z one is gold and I actually still see one or two of those floating around Chinatown in the City. (Antimind, if you do come down here, I'll show you where it is in Chinatown. ^_~) The FFXI one is kind of hot. The console + controller + Memory card are all the same colour. :3 Kind of cool, huh?

GC:

Orange
Purple + GBA Player
MGS: Twin Snake
Tales of Symphonia

Panasonic released this "modified" GC once, whereas you could play any zone GC games on it and it can even play DVDs! It was sold out pretty quickly. :x The MGS one has the Fox Hound logo on the jewel, that's about it. If I'm not wrong, the colour is Platinum. My friend tried to get herself one, but she said it was completely pre-ordered/booked by the time she tried to reserve one for herself. :/ The ToS one. -_- I really want it... Waaahhh... *whine* Nothing too special about it... Really...? >>;; It's green and has Lloyd's face on the jewel. T_T But it also came with a GBA player, the game itself, and the package was marked ToS all over. ^^;; The Purple and Orange consoles aren't really "limited" editions, but they came out recently, it's a new colour to the collection. (Besides the Black and Blue, oh yes, Platinum. But I think the Platinum is really a "limited" edition thing...) (I saw a Metroid Limited edition GC floating around BestBuy the other day, but there are so many of them... T_T)

Things I've seen oversea before: Limited Edition Sentimental Graffiti PS (the ORIGINAL one), Sakura Taisen Dreamcast Memory Reader... I want to say an Initial D PS2... That's about all I can remember... I didn't get to (and wasn't allowed to wander around) go to a lot of places last time I went oversea... T_T So I really can't remember what's up...

There was one for Tales of Symphonia GCN too. There was a US version that was Silver and i think the Japanese version was a greenish color.

Overview Japanse Gamecubes as far as I know:
Metal Gear Solid (in fact more like the metroid ones)
Hanshin Tigers
Tales of Symphonia
Pansonic Q
Gundam Generation
Black
Platinum
Indigo
Orange
Final Fantasy Chronicles (limted to 150)

The 4 main colors are also released in a pack with the GB Player. Some limited editions also come with a GB player.
