This week I read an old gaming magazine that mentioned that, when playing ridge racer, you could take out the game cd and put in an audio cd, so you could listen to your own music while driving. I remember having read this nearly 10 years ago, but I didn't have Ridge Racer back then. Now I do, so I gave it a try. And yes, it works! Instead of crappy techno I could race whilst listening to Fugazi.

Does anybody here know of any other games that have this feature. And is this a playstation-only thing?

Hm, I didn't know that about Ridge Racer or whatever DC games support it.  I should have though, because that's a really cool feature.  If only Ridge Racer had aged better I might have more use for it.  Do its sequels support this as well?

you could just turn off the volume on the TV and crank up the stereo. then all games would support this.

but seriously... don't a bunch of XBOX games have a similar feature?

Yeah, but on the xbox you play them off the internal hard disc. Not of loose cd's.

Yes for clarification these CD's had playable soundtracks on them. From what i know all the music is ingame music, but that would only make sense.
