I agree with Evil KOF died with KOF 99 and EA has too much money they buy and ruin everything. So just go out and preorder Mortal Kombat Decption (Mystification in France(how gay is that name)) and you dont even have to contemplate the possible shitiness of this game.

I haven't honestly played all of the KOF's to be sure of this, but I think KOF died even sooner than '99, somewhere in the 16 or early 32-bit era.

I don't really understand why anybody cares, especially Nep. I've never even seen him play KOF. Okay, well there was this one time he did a few years ago and I kicked his ass repeatedly.

Wow, this is a big load of crap.  I think you've got that backwards, pal.

And so is the bit about KOF being a shallow game series that died years ago.  They are GREAT fighters, and just because your attention span requires super-uber fast gameplay like in MvC, that doesn't mean that the KOF series lacks any depth.  Fighting games don't have to move at 90,000 frames a second to be good.

What is MvC?

King of Fighters is one of the very few remaining 2D fighters; thus, with limited selection, those of us who love these games eagerly wait for the next KoF to be released.  Now the reason 2D is better than 3D in a fighter is readily apparent to some and not to others.  Since you are limited to a 2D plane, the style of battle changes, the attackes have to be faster to work, the holds are closer range.  Anyway, most 3D fighters lack a certain something to make me want to master the game.  Last 3D fighter I played was Rival Schools, and the last I bought was Soul Caliber (DC), but I still have a blister on my thumb from Guilty Gear XX.
