Welcome to another edition of
RF Generation's Site News! In this issue, we reveal September's playthrough game, announce two recent site fixes, talk about what's new with Retro World Expo, extend you an invite to a new, modern gaming group started by one of our prominent members, and as always, thank those members who sent in submissions to our site during the month of July. But, before we get into these updates, I'd like to announce a few site promotions.
REMEMBER: If you have any news about upcoming events or topics that you think the site needs to hear about, please PM singlebanana and put "RFG Site News" in the subject line. Who knows, maybe your news will make our front page!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SITE PROMOTIONS
Of course I had to Picard you guys... I am very happy to announce the promotions for two of our more prominent and long time members of the site,
Duke.Togo and
MetalFRO! In an effort to reorganize and improved the site, a committee of staff members has been formed to deal with issues, oversee, and better all aspects of the site. As a result, Collectorcast leader and all-around, valued member of the site,
Duke.Togo has been chosen as our new
Media Coordinator. In this position, he will be a voice for and head all podcast and video projects. As it stands now, we have two active podcasts on the site, but look forward to future endeavors and even the possibility of site hosting these efforts. Congratulations Duke, we are looking forward to more great things from you!
RF Generation's
MetalFRO has been an active and loyal member of the site since his arrival. He has been a prolific staff writer for the front page for some time now and has been diligently working on collecting and reviewing his Gameboy collection as the Gameboy Guru. His consistent presence on social media convinced us to reach out to him to help improve this area of our site. As
Community Coordinator, MetalFRO will not only work to attract new members through our social media outlets, but also keep everyone already here informed of new events and goings on around the site. He will also work to set up threads and promote meetups at many of the more popular video game conventions. Congratulations FRO!
Please join me in congratulating both members in their new roles.

SEPTEMBER 2016 PLAYTHROUGH ANNOUNCEMENT
The LEGO franchise has been flooding the market with dozens of intellectual properties since the sixth generation. These games have earned a reputation for being fun, and especially for being great torch-bearers for the long lost art of couch co-op gaming. We're going to break our unwritten rule of jumping into sequels before playing their predecessors, because
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has a reputation for being a huge leap in quality over the first game. The game is available affordably on a plethora of consoles, including handhelds, so there's no reason not to don the cape and cowl with us this September!
The September RF Generation playthrough is a fun, laid back title that you can play alone or with a friend/spouse. You don't want to miss this one, so sign up
HERE today.
And hey, if you haven't checked out our special
Pokemon GO SideCast or our most recent
Uncharted Playcast yet, what are you waiting on?:

PERSONAL BLOG ERROR AND VIDEO EMBED FIX
If any of you have tried to submit to the personal blogs lately, you may have noticed an error that would not let you submit. Thanks our handy Technical Director, bickman2k, this problem was pinned down and fixed. Since the fix, non-staff member blog posts have also been tested to ensure that everything is working properly. If you have any questions or further issues with your blog posts, please contact one of the
Site Directors via PM. With the fix in, we are looking for some exciting blog posts from our members. And who knows, maybe you'll find your post on the front page in the future!
We have also recently had some issues with uploading video to blogs and forum threads, and as a result there is now a new format you will need to use to do this. To properly embed a YouTube video in your blog post: on YouTube click "Share," then "Embed." Next, copy and paste the entire contents of that box in to your blog post where you want it. This should work for both personal and staff blogs.

DESTINY THE KING WEEKLY PLAY GROUP
In preparation for the release of
The Rise of Iron on September 20th, wildbil52 is setting up a weekly play group for
Destiny The Taken King. If you would like to play, check in at the thread located
HERE. The activity the group will play depends on the number of players. The goal is to get enough players to complete a raid, but the best will be done to accommodate the players we have. If some players need help with quests, story missions, leveling up, Prison of Elders, etc., you can find it
here.
Right now, the plan is to play on Xbox One, but if there are enough PS4 owners who would like to play, a platform for that group will be set up as well.
Here's an exciting recap from our August 12th session:
Vault of Glass Hard Raid completed! May not be a big deal for long time players, but it was the first raid completion of any kind for two of our players last night.
Thanks to RFGen members InvadErGII and Jim F for participating and thanks to InvadErGII for bringing a couple of friends along for the ride.
Jim drew the ire of several long time players by acquiring the elusive Fusion rifle: Vex Mythoclast in his FIRST EVER RAID.
Next week's session will be added here soon:
