I've been having this problem for a couple days now. It started with Photobucket when I was using FireFox 2. Whenever I try to upload something by using the "browse" button, the little box comes up and I can browse through the files but as soon as I select a file, the box goes white and then nothing happens. If I try closing out of the box, I get the "program is unresponsive" and I must close it. I've cleared my cache, cookies, private data, restarted FF and my computer but nothing worked. I even upgraded to FireFox 3 but it still won't work.

This happens on every site I try, not just Photobucket.
I've googled the problem and it has happened to quite a few people, but no one seems to have a solution.

When using Internet Explorer, it works fine, so it is FF and not my computer.

Hmm, don't suppose this only started after the last time you updated FF, perhaps a side effect of a security fix (as FF2 still receives security fixes until the end of the year).

It might have, since I'm not sure when I last updated and hadn't tried uploading for a while until the other day.
But wouldn't going to FF3 fix that anyway?

Hmm, have you tried running Firefox in safemode and seeing if it still happens?

Reboot the PC and keep tapping F8 until a list of boot options comes up, then choose Safe Mode with Networking. Log in as an Administrator (Should be a user called "Administrator") then try doing stuff with Firefox.

Thanks  for the help, Cobra and James.
I tried it in safe mode and it worked so I tried it in regular mode and it worked that way too. Now to upload all these scans I've accumulated Roll Eyes
