Am I the only person here who was looking forward to this game?
It was supposed to come out on PS2 but apparently it has been canceled stateside. It is still slated for release sometime this month in Japan. I don't know about a PAL version either.

I read that the game got rid of the mythological aspects of the original aswell.
The game opened with some cinematics with you in a Testing Lab.  As you go through the game you would get genomes(or something else) to unlock the other beasts you morph into.
The only ones i know of so far are the Werewolf(all around beast), Wendigo(breathes ice) and Minotaur(breathes fire).

I think if any game i have heard of so far this would be the one to push me to try and get it imported. But then that would just open a whole new can of worms for me...

I was looking forward to it, but I guess I'll just have to settle with playing the original.

Hey thanks for the links shady.

The second link has another link to an importer and you can order the game for 60 bucks but that is a bit expensive for my blood.
Too bad. I guess i will have to hold out and get this at a much later time.

I remember seeing a video of this a while back. At the time, it looked an awful lot like Nightmare Creatures... but somehow.. more stiff. Then again, that really was.. i dunno, maybe 7 months ago. Has to be better now. But changing the story? That was part of the whole corny feel of Altered Beasts. Hopefully they keep the evil laughing wizard. "Nyahaha"
