So I have decided to build a MAME cabinet and wondered if anyone else has done this. I am not building a straight pc cab but a slight variation, I will post more when I do more. For now I have the controls all figured out and the design I am finishing up on dementions.

When I start building, I'll start a thread for updates with pics of my cabinet. I am also thinking of making a bartop machine with just like pac-man in it, could be fun, and is cheap to make.

Odonadondondon made one. Are you building one from scratch or will you modify an existing cabinet?

I am going to build one from scratch. The barcade will probably be built first actually, it's smaller requires less work, and it will give me a better understanding on how to build a bigger one.

Me and Dan were on the verge of making one at his house a year or so ago. I think he had some specs drawn up.

If i remember correctly the plan was to use an extra PC he had and use emulators and roms.

sounds cool. now all we need is someone to build a cocktail cabinet and we'll have specs for all variants.

I suppose a cockpit style could be done, though that's not too practical for home.

Remember Archer Maclean (coded stuff like Dropzone)?

Well, he does this:

damn! what you can do if you have the right tools. I would love to create new art for my Mr. Do! cabinet. I can do the graphic files, I've just got no method to output them.

I should do a little research. I think one of my customers has a close friend who has a company that does large decals.

what is the possibility of having a link to that on this site? of course with OD's permission but that is a beautiful machine and a very detailed account of it's construction. seems like a Member Projects section might be a nice addition to the site.

Junkie can add his bartop when it's complete. Tynstars's custom game shelves would make a nice page. and I recall Arrr having built a Super Gun some time ago.

Just a link to the page?  Or hosting a mirror? I'm not sure what you're asking.

here's what I was thinking:

so I guess a mirror page would be better than a link
