Who am I kidding, I'm gonna keep buying everything I see.

That's the spirit!

From a person who has a wife and kids, you can still have some fun money. Just learn to flip some stuff and have the hobby earn you some money to goof around with.

You can also start aiming for title quality instead of quantity. Find fewer, better games.

I went this route about a year ago and haven't looked back since.

I hit my goal of 500 games! Now sitting at 502. If I could just find all those boxes and manuals to make them all CIB I'll be set.

I'm going to set my goals a little lower and looser.

1 - Sega CD console
1 - TG-16 console

3 - Sega CD games (almost anything)
3 - TG-16 games (almost anything)
3 - NES games (specific from my wanted list)
3 - SNES games (specific from my wanted list)
3 - SMS games CIB (specific from my wanted list)
3 - Genesis games CIB (specific from my wanted list)

My goals might seem meager, but it's realistic, and given my current situation I'd be proud and happy if I could pull it off.

Wow, I did most of this MUCH faster than I thought. I finally found a place that sells older stuff.

I'm getting a Sega CD from eBay

From a shop I got;
Sega CD - Flashback with case (no manual)
NES - R.C. Pro-Am, Batman, and Deadly Towers
SNES - Populous
SMS - Alien Syndrome CIB, Golvellius with case (no manual), Time Soldiers with case (no manual)
GEN - Super Thunder Blade CIB, After Burner II with case (no manual), Zoom! CIB

It's the first time in a decade I've seen or bought anything outside of eBay and it was well worth it.

I think it's time to make a goal out of getting rid of some shit. My house is only so big and I already have an entire room dedicated to these things, many of which I will never play.

Just noticed that I'm only 5 away from 500 actual games in my collection, so my immediate goal is to pass that this weekend when I hit yard sales.  After this past week and a "surprise" from Singlebanana on Monday, I now have 502 total games, so that goal's been easily passed.  Thanks to that singular yellow fruit for that.  Wink Other goals I'd like to achieve by the end of the year:
--Hit 200 NES titles: Only 2 to go now, and hoping that the rest of that will come with completing the Tengen NES subset (Only 3 to go on that one: After Burner, Toobin', and Fantasy Zone)  Did this a little while back, with my 212th and most recently purchased title being Hatris.
--Find at least 1 Final Fantasy SNES game for less than $50 that is NOT Mystic Quest.
--Find both a Sega Genesis console and a SNES console, since I only have a RetroN 3 and not the actual consoles at the moment.
--Finally, make both of my copies of Gradius III and Contra III complete: Gradius III just needs a manual, and Contra III
needs both a manual and the cardboard insert for the box.

No worries, a big dent in this number is coming your way sir. Smiley
