Ha! I had no idea the hard bound Myst book is what would get comments. Both my wife and I very much prefer paperbacks. We've even gone out of our way to replace hard bound books in our collection with the paperback version.

The hard back Myst is a very neat book. It has a worn look to the pages and the cover is textured, there is embossing too. My mom bought it for me for a Christmas or birthday when it was first published. I have seen other copies, I'll be sure to grab them when I see one next.

Actually, for the longest time we have avoided buying game tie in books. Often the literary value is, um, you know....I really wish we had more gaming history books, those are often pretty good. There are several I keep an eye out for.

I discovered I have a second copy of that Wing Commander End Run, if anybody has the slightest interest let me know. I haven't yet read it myself, only because I've been waiting until we had the whole set to start in on it.

You guys have to be the only people in history to prefer paperbacks over hard cover. Whats the deal with that?

I hate hardcover books, too. Too cumbersome. And when they have dust-jackets ugh. Annoying. A paperback you can really fold back and make comfortable to hold. Sure hardcovers look nice on a shelf. But paperback is the way to go if you wanna read the bastard.

i usually prefer reading paperbacks, but i have no problem with hardcover, especially if it's a book or series i really love. usually the quality is much higher, and as already mentioned they look nicer on the shelf, and in some cases have extra content that the paperback doesn't get.

I have Hyrule Historia, The Twin Galaxies Official Book of Pinball and Video Game World Records, The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy: I Link, Therefore I Am, a few other Zelda comic books and little kid books. I'll try to grab a picture tonight.

Umm, I don't know. I just went over to their site and it looks like it was sold to someone and they are doing a complete overhaul of their site and database.  Should be interesting to see what comes out.

Never really got the point of Twin Galaxies. Just rubs me the wrong way. Bunch of old guys part of a clique still hanging on to 1982  trying to be thuper duper official but come across as corrupt and idiotic. Esp since one of them is a a known pedophile.

Their claim to fame was essentially that they had a competitive atmosphere and declared themselves the record keepers, since there was no official record keeper for high scores. They then set rules for their records, which made sense initially, but the constraints in the end are what ended up making the whole deal collapse. Many of their records were outdated due to the restrictions they put into place, and often times they had entries where one person just tossed in a score that wasn't even competitive, which made it the "world record".

Would it count now days if someone got a high score using a game on PSN/XBL/VC and I mean a port of a older Arcade game. Also I never saw them do anything beyond the early 80's stuff. That just might be due to coverage for all I know.
