Mark your calendars.  On December 11th, the final Godzilla movie (at least for a while) will be released.  Since it's the last one in a while, they're going all out on it.  Take a look at the list of monsters appearing:

Godzilla
King Seasar
Minya
Ebirah
Kamakaris
Kumunga
Gorosaurus
Manda
Gigan
Angilas
Rodan
King Ghidora
Mothra in Larva Form
Monster X

I for one can't wait.

Well, you and I look tasty to Godzilla, anyway.  And so does Mothra.

I enjoyed Godilla 2000 in the theatre when it came out, I can't wait for this one.

Godzilla 2000 was definitely a great movie.  I've only been into Godzilla movies recently, and that was the movie that got me hooked.  Godzilla's death ray is awesome.

P.S.  I'm still pissed about the outcome of King Kong vs. Godzilla.

I am totally PO, that there isn't an announced R1 release.
I have all of the others, but I can't afford to MOD my DVD player, as it has to be hardwired, at a whopping $80, plus shipping.

I'll probably buy it on eBay anyways, but I'll never get to watch them.
I wish they'd at least give us a true remastered Megalon. My copy sucks!

I'm still just getting into Godzilla, so I've got plenty to get before I complain too much.  Haven't even seen Megalon yet, but one of these days I'll get around to it...

Most people will tell you to stray away from Megalon. It's been mocked on MST3K, and was one of the funniest episodes to boot.

You might not enjoy it, if only the newer movies pique your interest. Since you're just starting out, you might want to save that one for last.
Columbia Tristar, just released some of their newer titles over here. You'd probably fare better with those.

Enjoy.

Just two or three days ago, I saw Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.  It may have actually been better than Godzilla 2000.  The end fight between Godzilla and Mechagodzilla was pretty awesome, even if there were some brief but really cheesy (in a bad, sappy way) parts.  Definitely a must-see Godzilla movie.

@IZRET - You mean the wallpaper image I posted?  That's the Godzilla they're using in Godzilla: Final Wars.  They decided to go back to Godzilla's roots a little bit in this one.  He doesn't look THAT much different now or then as compared to any of the other Japanese Godzillas, but there are variations.  American Godzilla, on the other hand, is very different and sucks a big one.  Japanese Godzilla will kick his face in when they fight each other.

Oh my. Those bastards should be shot. "Hey I've got a great idea! Godzilla can come to America and be a radioactive Iguana! And he'll have baby raptos and we'll throw Matthew Broderick in there to boot!"
