I have a few questions regarding some Nintendo 64 variants in the database.

First of all, for the following PLAYER'S CHOICE MILLION SELLERS:
Bomberman 64 (PCMS) (No Logo)
Bomberman Hero (PCMS) (No Logo)
Diddy Kong Racing (PCMS) (No Logo)
Donkey Kong 64 (PCMS) (No Logo)
F-1 World Grand Prix (PCMS) (No Logo)
F-Zero X (PCMS) (No Logo)
Koby Bryant In NBA Courtside (PCMS) (No Logo)
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (PCMS) (No Logo)
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (PCMS) (No Logo)
Turok 2 (PCMS (No Logo, Grey Cart)
WCW Vs. NWO World Tour (PCMS) (No Logo)

For the preceding titles, there is no Player's Choice Million Seller logo printed on the game cartridge, its only on the box. Tell me if I am correct or not. This would mean there is no way to distinguish a PCMS cart from a regular one (aside from Turok 2). Am I right or wrong?

Second Question. Can ANYONE confirm the existence of the following carts? I tried finding a picture but I could not.

Rally Challenge 2000 (Grey Cart)
Rugrats in Paris (Grey Cart)

Third, these Midway Red Logo variants.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Wayne Gretsky's 3D Hockey

I can not find any pictures anywhere. I am not clear however, if this means the logo is a different color only on the box, or on the box AND the cartridge. Can ANYONE confirm or deny these exist and if they do, is it just the box or the cartridge as well?

Thanks to ANYONE who can help!

Midway the color change was present on all items. The original releases were a white MIDWAY and the rereleases had the stylized red M followed by idway

I know those for certain because one of them i need (DAMN YOU MK VARIANTS!!!)
The rest of them should have a corresponding part number variation on the cart Presumably -1 but i cannot guaranteeing that.

One of the N64 guys or Shadow might be able to give a definite answer

I was involved with tracking down some of those PCMS titles with blck a while back. He made a point to buy a few of them sealed and opened them to verify that it was indeed just the box with the PCMS - the manual and cartridge were the same. However, some of the cartridge color variants I know were due to the PCMS release (Turok 2, like you mentioned).

For sure, he checked Kobe, Star Wars, and all of the Turoks.

I'm not sure about those two Grey cartridge releases, but Chadillac is one of our more prolific N64 collectors and he added Rugrats to the database. I see that the Scavenger Hunt cartridge is grey - maybe it was confused with that?

I had no idea about the Midway carts having variants.  Neat.

Like Shadow said, I checked a couple of them and I have little reason to believe that the carts listed in the OP have Players Choice logos on their labels, with exceptions for Diddy Kong Racing and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.  Those two games did have the Players Choice logo on the box and on the cart label.  I have owned multiple copies, so I know for a fact that they exist (along with pics in the DB).  I have no clue what the Diddy Kong Racing "Revision A" variant in the database is, though.  I would like to know the details on that.

I also don't know believe that there is a method of identifying the Players Choice carts from the non-PC carts.

I know for a fact the Rally Challenge 2000 exists as a grey cart, but it is rare like the grey versions of Hydro Thunder, Aidyn Chronicles, etc.  I'm also 95% sure I've seen a picture of the grey version of Rugrats in Paris.

edit 2:  I'm starting to believe that Rally Challenge 2000 doesn't exist in a grey cart...

This is great information. Thanks a lot. I feel foolish for not actually checking the pictures on our own database. I'm glad to see the Rugrats cart, but damn. Just another tough one to get.

Iz,do you have any pictures so I know what I'm looking for? I can't find a single picture online. Is it just MK and The Hockey one? Or are their others?

I also can not for the life of my find a picture of a Rally Challenge 2000 cart in grey.

what about the production number imprints on the back label of the carts? it might be difficult to track down the meaning of those for every PCMS game, but if you knew what numbers and above the PCMS games were then you could have a way to identify the carts.

Things should not be added to the database based on assumptions of their existence.

You can kind of make out the red M in this one. Also i was wrong Midway is written after it in white still
http://www.ebay.com/itm/M...s&hash=item3f193c2022

Also you should definitely be able to see the extra characters in the part number. That is the -1 i was talking about.

Yeah, I could have sworn I saw it on ebay while searching for variants.  I'd say remove it from the DB, but there are 13 owners.

Found some good pics here for you:
http://imageshack.us/phot...s/252/greyssmall.jpg/sr=1

I myself don't see any online either for a grey rally 2000 though.
When i get home i'll do a little more digging.
If within a week someone has not supplied proof of existence i will delete it.

Just because someone has something in there collection does not mean it exists. I have deleted several games that were never released that people had in their collections.

EDIT
That picture links back to this thread apparently Cheesy

Rally is getting deleted.

That is an excellent picture, and also thanks for the Midway picture, now I understand. It is the red LOGO, followed by the white Midway, where I wasn't even considering the actually logo and thought that it meant the M in Midway was Red itself. Excellent!

Yea sorry for the confusion. I thought it was a red "M" followed by white "idway".
I was wrong. Tongue
It is red M followed by white Midway

Can't bring myself to calling you beardcore just yet. Tongue

Cody,
The Midway logo variants were identified when a new member was submitting cartridge revisions to the database for N64. Mortal Kombat and Gretzky were both "Revision A" (meaning v1.1) and -1 Part #s. I tracked down images and found that the change was required because Midway had updated their "M" logo - it's now colored red instead of white. The packaging should reflect that as well, though it's not propagated in all areas of the packaging.

Diddy Kong Racing "Revision A" is v1.1 cartridge. Here's a YouTube comparison of a couple differences on the cartridge:

It can be identified on the cartridge with the "A" stamped on the back label. I'm not sure if there were packaging changes, since the Part # wasn't revisioned.

Yeah, I just read through that thread.  If those guys haven't found it, it likely doesn't exist.

Works for me then. Grin
For the variants, I try to find a Variation Title that reflects what the variant is, and attempt to add trivia to clarify the variation. Looks like I didn't do a good enough job on the Midway logo ones...feel free to update the title or trivia to make it easier to understand!
