I am currently at a Carrie Nation concert. I have a feeling Tunstall is jealous since I showed him this band. They had their trumpeter for this show! Up next is Split Lip Rayfield, I haven't seen them live yet but they are the headliner in CN's hometown.

I was knocked for a loop when I first heard this over my workplace's sound system a couple days ago:

Easily the most ridiculous cover of a Pink Floyd song ever, if not of any song ever.  Roll Eyes

And yet, it accomplishes the impossible by being trippier than the original tune.  speechless

That is quite a provocative disc cover if I may say so myself.

Gettin' my prog on with Alan Parsons Project's The Turn of a Friendly Card, featuring Time and Games People Play.

UPDATE: switched gears, and am now taking my ear to Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1.

Listened to all of that Crystal Logic, Manilla Road album Fleach put up the other day....I liked it.

I got new headphones this last weekend, the $32 Monoprice "108323 Premium Hi-Fi DJ Style Over-the-Ear Pro" headphones. People rave about them. I've put in a few hours now and I think they get such good reviews because of the price/value. They are great for being $32. They are passable otherwise. Reviews say they have zero soundstage, that's totally true. Almost none.

To test them out I've been listening to all sorts of stuff, high bitrate MP3's of Mark Knopfler, a lossless rip of Pink Floyd, James Bond Skyfall on Netflix, YouTube videos.....

People talk about how good the low end is on these, uh, okay....it's fine I guess, but not nearly as awesome as my stereo systems low end. Anyways, I've been listening to some bass stuff, Tron soundtrack and the like. Victor Wooten, best bass player ever....

He gets kinda jazzy if you start digging into his stuff but boy is he great.

Victor is the bass player for Béla Fleck and the Flecktones:

On to check out some stuff Zag put up, hmmm, Alan Parsons or Alan Parsons, decisions decisions.....

Cool! Glad you liked Manilla Road, nupoile. I was introduced to them a couple months ago by friend who's now playing in a metal band very similar to Manilla Road.

I'm a bass player and trained in the jazz school of course I know Victor Wooten though I will never be able to play like him. One can dream though Wink I saw him and Stanley Clarke in concert. Amazing! Check out School Days by Stanley Clarke. Marcus Miller is another bassist you might really like.

And can't deny how great Alan Parsons Project is!

My album of the day is Cirith's Ungol's King of the Dead. It's just as if Rush and Black Sabbath had a musical baby.

You saw Wooten Fleach? So jealous. He is probably my favorite Bass player. Stanley Clarke is pretty awesome too.
