Sigur Ros- Hoppipolla

Quite possibly my favorite song, and I have over 25 gigs of music not to mention simply listening to the radio.

Winner. Sigur Ros is incredible and I would love to see them play live. Their new 2x CD is really good, too.

The Mars Volta - The Bedlam In Goliath (yay interweb leaks)

This totally makes up for the fairly subpar Amputechture. Bedlam is FUCKING INSANE! I might be willing to say it's their best since Deloused in the Comatorium. An amazing prog rock/punk/free jazz/salsa album.

To be completely honest I really lost interest after De-Loused. They got way too much into the whole jam-band stigma in my opinion. But I'll check out the new CD because I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Don't laugh:

Simply Red - Greatest Hits

In particular, Fairground. I like this song because it used to be on the radio when my mum, my sister and I went to visit my dad in London in the early 90s. We lived about 150 miles away in Herefordshire and went to his flat at the weekends. It was really special to go past all the sites of London at night then getting to see him. Good times. Ironically, it has some appropriate lyrics.

Quote
Driving down an endless road
Taking friends or moving alone
Pleasure at the fairground on the way
Its always friends that feel so good
Lets make amends like all good men should
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

Walk around be free and roam
Theres always someone leaving alone
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

And I love the thought of coming home to you
Even if I know we cant make it
I love the thought of giving hope to you
Just a little ray of light shining through

Love can bend and breathe alone
Until the end it finds you a home
Dont care what the people may say

Its always friends that feel so good
Lets make amends like all good men should
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

And I love the thought of coming home to you
Even if I know we cant make it
I love the thought of giving hope to you
Just a little ray of light shining through

Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun is another one, but I won't go into that.

I completely agree. I loved the De-Loused, but everything after that sort of paled in comparison. I haven't listened regularly to one of their albums since.

De-Loused was great! Frances the Mute was better (not by a whole lot), Amputechture was a disappointement but pretty good, Bedlam is incredible.

There's some stuff from the new album. (Also, view the page source for a good laugh)

I dug out an old CD "book" - I can't think of what they're called other than cases for loose CDs. I'm listening to a CD I burnt many years ago. It has a funky YMCA techno remix on it amongst other forgotten songs. Puretone - Addicted to Bass and a remix of that song. Darude - Sandstorm. I'm only on to track 5 but I can't work out what this one is now.

Listened to a lot of Toadies today. A top 5 all-time band for me.

I recently got into this band called Fatal Flying Guilloteens. They're kinda like Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower but with more no-wavy stuff and garage rock feel. Good times.
