Deep Purple

I totally dig those guys.

Though oddly enough, I'm not a big fan of their most notable tune, Smoke on the Water.

But that's cool, 'cuz they have plenty of other tracks to get me goin'.

Like...

and...

and...

Heck, I even liked a couple of their tracks from the 80s...

But their greatest effort, by far, was:

Just a great buildup to the lyrics kicking in, and it's one of the few tunes I know that has two bridges in it.

All righty, guys, it's time to get your significant other in the mood for some sexy time with a few romantic ditties.

Just make sure you have your headphones ready, and/or make sure the kids are out of earshot...

And now you're sleeping on the couch tonight...

...at your best friend's house.

This tune is stuck in my head. I can't stop whistling it.

This is an oddly good antidepressant.

This is an oddly good antidepressant.

I wonder if I can bust this group of fully-clothed men for false advertising?

As for myself: I've been having some fun listening to butched-up covers of soft rock classics.

For example, here's Christopher Cross' Ride Like the Wind:

And now, Saxon's rendition:

Neil Diamond's Solitary Man:

And HIM's take:

Seals & Crofts' Summer Breeze:

Aaaand Type O Negative's version:

Well since Youtube is going through that time of the month and not wanting to embed I'll still post this.

Because it fits my current situation now. And I'm happy with it.

Rrrrright.  Roll Eyes

Anyway, I felt the need to just sit in a comfy lounge chair and veg out for a while to Rush's Signals album:

A big favorite is Losing It, which, while being rather understated, is also very powerful.

I also especially enjoy The Analog Kid; I really dig the contrast when this tune goes into the chorus.

Then there's the epicness of Chemistry... it just takes me away to a whole 'nother place.
