At lunch I noticed a sign for a new Thrift store right down the block from the one I usually stop at during lunch.  A brand new hunting ground, I can hardly wait.  Only problem is it won't be only until the end of the month.

Roller hockey is relatively cheap.... Around here it runs about 13 dollars a game (130 dollars a season)

Ice is way too expensive anymore Sad I may do ice again once my son starts playing in ice hockey leagues.....

Today I went to school, then I went and attempted (unsuccesfully) to do a project with some buddies.  After that I came home and a friend of mine dropped off a copy of Donkey Kong Country that I had him buy for me, and now I'll be sitting at home doing whatever until I go to sleep.  Exciting, eh?

There is a very popular game at Miami University called broomball.  It is played in tennis shoes on an ice hockey rink with a ball and everyone has a broom.  I never did play it while I was there, but many people did.

I went to work at 6:30 in the morning to the wonderful intersection of Carother's Road and Grand Avenue in wonderful Newport, Kentucky. There from 7-9 I counted traffic at the intersection from the comfort of my car, while avoiding the rain and listening to Howard Stern. Afterwards I got paid to drive back to the office 30 minutes away in beautiful historic Mason, Ohio. There I drew schematic drawings of two intersections in the downtown area of Mason for a study that we are doing. Somewhere in there I also went to Wendy's for a lunch, hoping it would qualm my aching headache. It didn't work. Afterwards I returned to the intersection in Newport with my boss behind me, where we surveyed the next two rounds of counts. After that I made some chicken scratch schematic drawings of the count regions, and then headed to the Bank to put money into my checking account. After finding downtown Ft. Thomas, which is a very lovely and charming town, I returned once again to the intersection that I was at in the Morning and counted traffic from 4-6. Once that was complete, I decided that it was time to get my copy of Harvey Birdman: Season 1, and I headed towards the Best Buy that I worked at. After racing up 471 into Ohio, driving through the trench that is Fort Washington Way, galloping along the Sixth St. Expressway, meandering up Warsaw Ave., and cruising down Glenway Ave. I finally made it to Best Buy, where I bought the DVD I wanted for 21.99, thanks Circuit City pricematch! From Best Buy I headed back down Glenway, turned onto Guerley, then Sunset, then QueenCity, then the Viaduct, then McMillian, from which I entered not so lovely Clifton Heights, arriving at my apartment shortly afterwards. Once there I had a conversation with the Black Perl, and then I saw this thread, of which I am replying to currently.

Now how the hell was everyone else's day?

That was big around here in the mid-eighties, I even had special shoes for playing.  They had soft rubber soles with little tiny suction cups.  I played in a co-ed league where we used a regular broom that was taped up, and a mens league where we used special brooms that were cut short and dipped in orange plastic.  I even have a trophy around here somewhere from our team winning the co-ed league one season.  I haven't thought about that in years, those were fun times.

My day was ack. Started really good. My sleep deprived ass drove to Pitcairn an picked up my buddy. He's in from LA an stayin with his bitch. Neither of us had any idea what the hell we wanted to do an he made a wise crack about the pr0n shop so I took him to the biggest one in the Pittsburgh area. He'd never been to one and was amazed and embarrassed as hell...lmfao After that we went game hunting, then to Eat n Park, back to my place to check out my games, an then back to Pitcairn. Picked my mom up from the hospital an brought her home today. Then things went downhill fast.

I hadn't slept much so I took a nap. Got woke up by my brother screamin, yellin, an throwin my N-Gage. From the 2 mins it took me to get outta bed he destroyed my keyboard. Went downstairs an found out he destroyed and threw out some of my standees, posters, and a few games. Ended up havin to lock myself in my game room and barricade the door just so I didn't get beat down. I really dunno why he's such a hateful lil bastard but he sure as hell likes to make my life miserable. I'm not gettin into more details but I damn near threw some clothes in a backpack an was gonna go stay in a shelter or some shit till I found somewhere to go. I really ain't got nowhere to go though, least not in the Burgh. Can't call the cops on his ass either cause even my mom said she'd get his back.

I could leave right now but I have nowhere to put my games. My games are the only thing I got in this world so ain't no way in hell I'm leavin em behind. Any time you think your life fucking sucks just think it really could be worse. You could be me.
