Adults try to shelter kids way too much.  I found out that in a lot of grade schools across the country are banning the games Tag and dodge ball, and replacing them with "the circle of friends game".  They're also telling teachers not to mark the kids' papers with red ink because it's a negative color.  Instead they're suppose to use lavender.  Also little league base ball and tee ball teams are being told not to keep score.   That's just going way too far.

Ever since Columbine, the PC-happy, the religious right, and ultra-conservatives have been gaining power.

Remember the episode of the Simpsons when Marge protested Itchy and Scratchy as being too violent and the creators decided to make them friends where instead of hitting each other they gave each other presents? The show sucked!

Our country is coddling kids too much, imo. How are our kids going to develop the mental toughness that they will need in life if they don't understand competition and the sportsmanship that should come from how to handle both winning and losing?

"Circle of friends" game? Is that like Red Rover, Red Rover but instead of keeping others out everyone gets through? Wusses! The next generation is becoming more and more at risk of becoming the "Wuss" generation!

I'm a SAAAD Panda....

dodgeball was the best game in gym class. our gym teacher had some pretty wicked variants on it too. we played one called "Razor Blade" where you couldn't use whatever body part got hit. if you got hit in the leg you had to hop, hit the arm, had to throw with the other, both legs you had to walk on your knees. the only fatalities were head and torso hits.

another version had 3 teams. two lined up on opposite sites of the gym, the 3rd team had to lay on their belly on a dolly and try to roll the length of the gym without getting nailed by the other 2 teams. kind of like running a gauntlet.

ahhh dodgeball, what a blast.

Hey Den, too bad they don't have a 4-player Dodgeball game for xbox. That would be fun!

We had one called medic.  Where each team had 5 kids on dollys and where the medics.  If you got hit you had to call out medic and they had to come tag you and you got back in.  But if the medic got hit though they were out for the rest of the game.

I had it at one point.  It was pretty fun, I guess, but only in multiplayer.  It's worth it if you can find it cheap, but I wouldn't pay more than $3-4 for it.

I have a ROM of the Gameboy Advance one.  I like it a lot.  If you want it I can email it to you, and if you want the emulator for it I have that too.
