Seeing how Dave Grohl went from Nirvana to the Foo Fighters I thought this might be an interesting poll.

I prefer the Foo Fighters. Nirvana has some pretty good tunes and were a lot more important in the great history of rock music, but the Foo Fighters are a lot more fun. I also prefer Grohl's voice over Cobain's. And the Foo Fighter videos are brilliant of course.

What's this? Some lame rip off of maddox? Who is pretty lame himself. It looks like he's trying very very hard not to say anything new or interesting. I guess that's a quality on itself.

I dont really like or hate either band, But the only reason Nirvana is stilled played on the radio is because Kurt killed himself.

Foo Fighters. Nirvana was a great band but so damn depressing. Lighten up Kurt, you're a rock star. well WAS anyway.

I think part of what he hated so much was the fame.

My pick goes to Nirvana though.  They were indeed more significant in the history of rock than the Foo Fighters, and they were actually a coherent band.  The Foo Fighters on the other hand are pretty much Dave Grohl and some other people that don't really matter.  Both are great bands, but overall I think Nirvana's sound is better to my ears.

I just tied up the voting with one for Nirvana.
They are both pretty good but in the end i have heard and more often listen to Nirvana.
I really liked the unplugged stuff i have heard aswell.

@Scott there are people out there who believe he did not commit suicide. Pretty much the watered down version of it is ..
How could he inject himself with 4x the leathal amount ot heroin undo the belt out all his paraphinalia(sp?) away then grab a gun and pull the trigger when after the injection he would have already been dead.

@Anthony OK then the only reason they are stilled played is because he is dead.

Foo Fighters.  I never really liked Nirvana much, and I get pissed whenever someone says that Kurt Cobain was a great guitarist.  No he wasn't.  Eddie Van Halen is a great guitarist.  Jimi Hendrix was a great guitarist.  Buddy Guy was is a great guitarist.  Kurt Cobain had an astute mastery of power cords and use of a delay effect.  It worked for what Nirvana did, but it doesn't make him great.

I said Nirvana because I use to listen to them quite a bit (not so much now).  I never really listened to the foo fighters though.

I'm actually more of a fan of Probot than either Nirvana of Foo Fighters.
