Anybody have any experience with the XRGB mini.  I've researched plenty and I'm about to bite and get it.  Any cheaper alternatives?  Does anybody think the Retron 5 will kinda make the mini obsolete?

I would just go for the Framemeister, don't bother with the Retron 5.

As I understand it, there's really no cheap alternative to the XRGB mini. There's a lot of very good information about this sort of thing in the OP of this thread on Something Awful, including a link to some (admittedly less good) alternatives.
