I stumbled across this game for Xbox at EB today. It's been marked down to $4.99.

Anybody played it? Is it garbage, or is it worth picking up?

for $4.99 it's worth picking up. that's how much I got it for. it's a futuristic racer, a bit like the Wipeout series. I can't say I've played it more than once though.

It's ok, this review i read kind of sums it up in more detail:       http://www.1up.com/do/rev...age?cId=2005933&did=2
you can buy more useful things for 4.99, like take that gf/bf of yours to the big BK for a junior whopper and if you're a big spender you can get a side of fries with that too!  (don't forget one of those little crowns)
just playin, do with your 4.99 what you will.

It's funny how from the very few Xbox games that I've actually played, the ones you ask about are always part of that small group of games Wink

I've spent quite a lot of hours playing Quantum Redshift, mainly because there is a lot to unlock, but also because it is generally fun to play.  It has very nice graphics, lots of characters to begin with as well as to unlock, and each character has their own racer pod.  By beating the tournaments in various difficulties you earn points which are then used to upgrade every character's respective racer.  They each have their own weapons, specialties, etc.  Every character has their own respective race course and archenemy as well.  Every pair of archenemies has their own nationality, and this is shown through voice acting in different languages and their race courses.

I consider it a quality title, but it depends on where your taste lies.  It's basically just a futuristic demolition racer with a lot of extras for added replay value.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like it's worth it. It does have 4 player split screen as well. I'll see if it's still there tomorrow.

I just picked up a copy. And the $4.99 is the price for a NEW copy, not a used one. So if anyone's interested in this game, you can pick up a new copy cheap at EB while they last.
