One of the launch titles for the Nintendo Gamecube in America, and one of Sega's first multi-console games, Super Monkey Ball has an identity that is uniquely its own, yet at the same time it touches on the past. While playing this game you can't help but think that the game, as unique and orginal as it is, is in some way an homage to classic title Marble Madness. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, we'll never know. What we do know though is that this game is an extreme pleasure to play, and when you add friends into the mix, it becomes one of the best party games there is.

They need to hurry up and make 3, or release the new one on Gaome Cube.

Super Monky Ball makes me like the Game Cube. :-)

I bought it not too long ago, and although it was fun, I found it to be a little bit too hard.  Then again, I suck.

@ CFB lol

I rented this a while back with Dan.
It was pretty fun.
I don't really remember much other than a level where yuo had to glide your open capsule thru the air and grab bananas for extra pionts and close it to hit the target.

I have a version of this on my cell phone and it makes for a good diversion. Not really my "cup of tea" on the console however. :-/

It's a total stoner game.

Get drunk or high and then play it, and you will understand.

it does seem like it would be a fun party game. I've played it with my daughter and she likes it.

Or you can watch people who are drunk and/or high, and get the same understanding.

But where is the fun in that?

And it is a very good party game.

Good stuff. Both the 1st and 2nd one. The 2nd one is a bit harder then the first. Great for 4 player action as well.

I've personally never played this game, but from what I'm hearing here I'll have to give it a try sometime.  For which systems was the game & variants of the game released?

It's a brilliant game, but it gets old fast. Maybe I should get a second controller for the gamecube and try some multiplayer.

Multiplayer extends the replay value of all incarnations exponentially. It's amazing how much more fun it is playing with other people.

Yeah, there really shouldn't even be a single player option, it is just a sin to play this game alone.  After all, its a party game.
