Beat The Last Starfighter after a few days of working on it. What a terrible shmup. Not much fun to be had with this one and so many cheap deaths. Really just had to wait for a run that got lucky enough with the placement of the heat seeking mines. Used a lot of pause buffering to get through it.

After a few days of lots of effort I finally took down the final zapper game I had on my personal list, To the Earth. The final stage of this game is absolutely brutal. I had to move my TV to the floor and angle it up so that I could play for longer sessions without my shoulders getting too tired while I learned the game. It's pretty fun and has some solid music if you just want to play it casually, but it's a monster to actually beat solely because of that final stage.

Took a couple more games off our list in the last two days. Yesterday I finished Side Pocket after spending close to a week on it. The last couple stages are pretty tough to get the scores required to take a try at the trick shots. I failed the final trick shot on my first attempt and it took me about 5 days of playing to get another chance at it. Was extremely thrilled with myself when I got it the second time.

And I also finished off Palamedes just now. It was a fun little puzzler. You have a dice block that you can roll and shoot to match up to other dice that are dropping towards you. As you collect them you can use them in poker combinations (pairs, runs, etc) in order to clear lines and send them over to your opponent. Very face paced quick rounds made it feel fun and exciting. Beat both the 1 player game and the tournament mode which is the mode that unlocks the credits.

Took me quite a while to work my way through it, but tonight I finally finished Might & Magic: Secret of the Inner Sanctum. It's a real rough ride compared to a lot of the other RPGs on the system. You've REALLY gotta love mapping dungeons and grinding to find the joy in this game. Some decent tunes though and the sprites aren't too bad. Wouldn't be high on my recommendation list.

This is also the 600th licensed NES games I've beaten now. In the home stretch!!

Beat Tecmo World Wrestling today. Easily one of the better fighting games on the system. Fairly impressed with the Tecmo sports games across the board. Fun characters, easy to play, some cool special moves.

Beat Infiltrator today. Worked on it a bunch yesterday and pretty much just spent that time learning to fly and land the helicopter. Today I was actually able to start playing the game now that I understood that. Pretty tough controls on the flying parts with entering co-ordinates, watching altitude, keeping an eye on battery and oil gauges, intercepting radio transmissions, engaging different modes depending on your current objective. The actually spy part of the game is just super simple though.

Another baseball game in the books with Little League Baseball: Championship Series done. It was alright, thankfully just a tournament bracket to go through and not a whole season of games. Fielding was mostly ok, pitching and hitting was solid. Ran into one glitch where my guy was sliding into first base and just got stuck endlessly in the slide until he got tagged out. Having 6 inning games was honestly pretty great though. I think I only have one final baseball game to play left on my list!

Finally was able to get through American Gladiators. Pretty much a game that just takes practice and memorizing the different events.  Going to go for George Foreman's KO Boxing, next

Heck yeah! Awesome you were finally able to put that one down. That last round of challenges is no joke.

Oh yeah, for sure. The wall climb on the final set of challenges has got to be the most grueling thing.  In order to get anywhere you just have to replay it over and over until you know where each person is going to come at you, where the dead-ends are, and all the other hazards. My fingers were cramping by the end of it all, cause you have to go fast while avoiding all this stuff.

Beat Skate or Die 2 just now. Very weird game. You are basically the villain as you murder the mayor's dog in the first cut scene and then fight the mayor's wife as the first boss. After that you are just doing things that will allow you to build a halfpipe after your's gets torn down. The last stage sucks a lot and is just a giant multi floor maze. The halfpipe part, which is a separate mode, was actually pretty decent though. Took me about an hour to get a score good enough to take the 1st place spot, but you get a decent amount of tricks and its not bad controls to pull most of them off.

Ending for Story Mode

High Score on Halfpipe

I have been practicing Ikari Warriors since October 19th of this year and was finally able to get a win today on December 7th. It is a cruel and mean game. If you think losing all your powerups in Gradius is tough try losing them in Ikari Warriors. Easily one of the hardest games I've ever beaten and one of the most challenging on the system.

Congrats Crabby. That one is infamously hard.

How many left on your personal to beat list?
