Bandit Kings of Ancient China is finished now. It was a very interesting and bizarre idea for a strategy game, but didn't quite do the idea justice. Instead of conquering and entire country like most of the KOEI games you have to gain enough support with the people before the other various Bandit groups. Once you have enough popularity the Emperor will issue you his Imperial Edict which finally allows you to confront the villain of the game. I felt like I was ready to fight him like 6-7 hours before I was able to earn the Edict though so there was a lot of expanding and developing territories while waiting for January to roll around each year to see if I was getting and Imperial Edict. That's a enough KOEI for me for a bit. Need to play a little faster paced genre before I jump back into another RPG or strategy game.

Beat Top Gun Second Mission today. I'm so glad it was very short because it is absolutely brutally unfair feeling. Nearly everything is instant death and it comes at you from every conceivable angle. And the bosses seem to be just luck whether they kill you immediately or not. Got reasonably good at the first 2 levels (other than the second boss, which on occasion just kills you the second you start), and just barely squeaked out a win on the final stage on my last life. Also did the dog fight mode against the CPU which was thankfully a lot shorter. Cannot wait to run out of flight sim style games to play.

You are a man on a mission. Sorry I haven't been participating lately. I got a bunch of home projects happening right now keeping me away from this.  Glad to see you are still on it.

On a Second Mission some might say......as my personal list keeps shrinking I'm feeling very energized to keep playing. A couple weeks ago I pulled out what I consider the hardest 5 games I have left to beat and started work on those. Beat 2 of the 5 now. If I can take down the last 3 there should be nothing to stop me!

That's awesome.  Which ones you working on?  Hopefully, once these projects are out of the way I can help you out on the ones that are left.

Started Q*Bert yesterday. After that it's Mutant Virus and Championship Pool.

Been working on it for about a week quite a bit and was finally able to beat Q*Bert tonight. Gets relentless in the later stages with enemies coming at you from everywhere and at fairly high speeds. Took many many many (246) attempts to finally get my win. About three quarters of it was learning the game and getting used to enemy patterns, when to use the spinning discs and good methods for clearing each type of stage. The other quarter was luck and just getting fortunate with Sam and the green balls when they came down. Brutal game, but at least it was kind of fun as well.

Beat Formula One: Built to Win over the last few days. Ended up playing through it nearly 3 times. Had my laptop freeze near the end twice. Thankfully it's not overly long or challenging. Pretty decent though and kind neat how you can upgrade your vehicle and earn new licenses.

Beat Ultimate Air Combat. The cockpit parts are kinda lame, but I actually liked the isometric missions. The planes loadouts being super different and them all having different specialties was surprisingly good. I don't think I've ever played such a pro US military propaganda game before though. The "story" definitely wouldn't fly today

Took the better part of this week, but was able to finally finish off Uncharted Waters tonight. Started off very enjoyable just cruising around buying and selling goods. After all the ports where discovered and I had a large stockpile of gold the game just kept dragging on and on though. Same missions over and over and over again. And the amount of stupid storms or ships just disappearing was pretty frustrating. This is a fun 5-10 hours, but not a fun one to actually beat.

After having some laptop issues a few weeks back WildBil52 hooked me up with a new machine to do my NES recordings on. So this week I've been able to get back to it and knock out a few games from my list that you guys beat me to in 2019. But I did get to beat another one that we all missed, The Mafat Conspiracy: Golgo 13 II. It is MUCH more straight forward than the first Golgo 13 game, which was a nice change. Only the stage 5 first person dungeon gets a bit confusing, the rest of them were very easy to navigate. There some tricky platforming near the end, but otherwise the difficulty isn't terrible and you get a very generous amount of continues.
