There was an interesting program on G4 Icons yesterday about the life of Ralph Baer. Apparantly, he was an engineer that was the first to figure out how to create an interface to create movement on a screen and holds the original patent from his "brown box" design.

If I find the written article, I'll post it.

Yea i saw that a few months ago very interesting.
It was cool because i have read a bit about him but i had heard alot of new stuff by watching that show. And Icons tends to give a very short synapsys of the history and info.

Icons is a really good show.
I have seen episodes for
Ralph Baer
Madden series
Mortal Kombat series
Shigeru Miyamoto
and some other ones i don't remember...

Yeah I saw that and I read about him in  the books High Score and the ultimate history of video games. Both really good books.

I have seen the Icon show once and it was on Peter (not going to try the last name). The guy that did Fable.

I also read about him in the same books as NDiddy.

...Molyneux, the guy who does Black and White.

I've seen the one on Shigeru Miyamoto, as well as some more obscure ones. I wish there was one on Gunpei Yokoi,  the father of modern handheld gaming, and the brainchild behind the Metroid Series.

Don't forget the one that Nintendo drove out of the company.

You know Ralph Baer has created some cool things in his life!

Not just Odyssey but lots of other audio/video toys & stuffs. Simon for one, and the Kid Vid set that Coleco brought out for 2600, and talking teddy bears, and even some little GI Joes with voice paks on back. Lots interested toys & things, that you would have never thought he was behind.
