Ok, so I recently got off my ass and bought FFVII. I know, finally, right?

Well. I played about 5 hours into it (stupid pillar just fell), and went to save when I noticed something interesting. My origional saved game wasn't on the list. It was just totally empty. So I saved it a couple of times on there, hoping it was just a one time fluke.

But alas when I went to load up my game this morning- it was gone again!

So I went straight into the card to make sure my harvest moon and abe's exodus games were still there- but they are all fucking gone! The harvest moon games were almost done, too. ;_;

So my question is this: Does this happen sometimes with memory cards? with just playstation memory cards? Or am I just a complete retarded and managed to delete all my shit in my sleep? What am I supposed to do with a memory card that won't save my damn games?!

I just want to punch someone right now.

[edit]
Ok, so Josh Gourley has been kind enough to lend me one of his memory cards so that I can start my FFVII game over again.

Unfortunately it keeps dropping my saves after the first one I made. I'm beginning to think this is a problem with the console itself. Unless the game could mess this up?

Either way I am very frustrated.

I had my memory card break down on me when I was in the last level of tomb raider 3. It really pissed me off. In my case it really was broken though and it didn't just dissapear.

If I were you I'd buy a new memory card and toss this one in the bin. Wouldn't want to lose all your data again.

I'm guessing it was not a Sony memory card either. I've heard many tales of failed 3rd party memory cards. if it was a Sony I'd be even more pissed as those are expected to be reliable.

-pulls all of her hair out-

I don't think it was sony, but I wouldn't know as Freak gave it to me.

Argh, I can't wait until payday next week so I can get another. :'/

If it was Sony their name would have been on the card.

Next one you buy make sure you pick up a Sony card.
It is more expensive but as you can now see soo much more wrth it.

Actually i think they still might have those 2 pack of cards in alot of places. It is a clear red and a clear blue one for 15-20 bucks if memory serves.

That really sucks too.
And the Abe games kick some serious ass BWT I love them |D

Damn, that sucks.  I've heard bad things about 3rd party memory cards as well....always best to get a first party one...better to spend 2 extra hrs @ work to make money for a first party card and 15 hrs of game saves that will likely never vanish than to have 17 hrs of game saves that will vanish sooner or later Wink

By the way, talking about third party PSX memory cards....I bought a brand new NES clone a while back that looks like a PSX, and it came with a PSX memory card that I assume was made by the same pirated company as it seems to be of really shitty quality...but I really don't understand why a PSX memory card came together with a NES clone!!  Roll Eyes

I don't remember if it was Sony or not.  I don't think it was though.
