I saw this and I just thought wow, IGN is worth a lot of money for being such a crappy site. I wish my imaginary site was worth 650 million dollars. Too bad though that it isn't, but hey, I can imagine.

My Prediction: This will change nothing about the quality of the site, and it will still suck.

Yea FOX probably was just trying to get their fingers on another media pulse.

The sad thing is people pay for the site.
You can get some OK info from IGN but it seems that alot of the info is speculation or there is somethign wrong with it.

Not to knock IGN too much. But i totaly agree they are not worth that much. I don't know how many registered paying users are on IGN but you cannot deny the amount of influence they have on the gaming community.

Didn't they even have their own Cup in Mario Tennis on N64?

Agreed.  If I have to get info on a game that I can't get here, I go to Gamespot.

Interesting news.  I think TraderJake pretty much hit the nail on the head, so to speak.  IGN does suck and considering how much Fox also sucks, I see no changes for the better.  If anything, we'll just get the added bonus of advertising for their many horrible television shows.

I too am shocked by the $650 million in cash.  Absolutely amazing.  The guys who started that site years ago never could have known it would get that big.
