Every now and then me and some neighborhood buddies have what we call a campout. We set up a tent and proceed to walk around the neighborhood all night. Getting on top of rooftop's (for instance, this time, we climbed a 30 foot service ladder on top of one of those gi-normous factory's you see in industrial area's, you could easily have three NFL football games going simultaneously on that roof and have lots of room for fans, it's BIG)  etc.

Well, we were doing this last night and our wanderings, which reach further and further from home each time, took us into an adjoining township, Blue Ash, we were about eight miles from our tent when we decided to turn back. We normally stay off the main roads, but for some reason we went out onto Kemper. About 0.045 seconds after we come onto this road a cop pulled up, got out of the car, told us about a curfew we knew nothing about and frisked us for drugs.
When we told him we were from Sharonville he decided it was more trouble than it was worth to arrest us and drove us home to the waiting arms of my friend's lunatic mother.
Well it was a pretty cool experience, I never knew until then how uncomfortable the back of police cruisers were.

Now if you'll exuse me i'm going to sleep.

I know around here you can't be out past 11:00 PM on weeknights and 1:00 AM on Friday and Saturday unless you're 18.  Pretty retarded, I must say.

Know the heirarchy!

Blue Ash, City of <-Municipality
Sycamore Township<-Survey Township
Hamilton County <-County
Ohio<-State
United States of America<- Country
Earth<-Planet

This heirarchy has been brought you by a very bored Civil Engineer in Training.

Anyways, yeah, there is a curfew, and they suck. Know how to circumvent curfews? Say you were coming home from a job.

Battle Ground supposedly has a curfew. At least that's what the cops will say if you are out after ten o clock or so.

But I have it from a previous mayor of Battle Ground (who happened to be my teacher at the time) that there really isn't a curfew. Not officially anyway. Stupid cops, always lying to us!

Did you get into any trouble at the homefront?

Thanks for the tips traderjake. Though I don't think the job thing would have worked to well this time.

Land of the free indeed. Can't even walk around past midnight.

I was grounded for 1 day, what the point of that was I know not. One friend got nothing and the one with the lunatic mother got a flippin month.

I was alway told there was no limit.  "If you want to live in my house you follow my rules."  It makes sense, if you don't like the rules you can always go live somewhere else.  Of course free rent and free food made it hard to leave.

I don't remember ever being grounded.  Rather than grounding me, my parents just take stuff away.  When I was younger and I played games a LOT, I had to get decent grades or I had my games hidden in some obscure place (i.e. my parents' closet) until the grades were satisfactory.  I was never a very social person anyway, so grounding me didn't do much.
