Animal Crossing: New Horizons - January 12, 2025 (reached 3-star island and credits). Second time I "beat" this game, and I have gained even more of an appreciation for it on my second go-round.
ANTONBLAST - January 21, 2025 (Overall, I highly recommend it, but it has a heavy amount of profane language during the cutscenes, so be wary before going in.)
Everhood 2 - March 21, 2025 (Really good game overall, but the ending sucks.)
Night in the Woods - May 25, 2025 (Heeavvyy, but great game.)
DELTARUNE Chapter 3 - June 4, 2025 (It's Good ! Would recommend.)
DELTARUNE Chapter 4 - June 7, 2025 (Highlight of the year in terms of games for me.)

I’m a little late to the ball game this year…

#01 - Sonic Generations
Date: 01–18-2025
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Time: 10 Hours
Details: Regular playthrough. Not sure if I’ll go back for the missions.

#02 - Shadow Generations
Date: 01-21-2025
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Time: 7 Hours
Details: Regular Playthrough, this game is awesome Wink

#03 - Super Mario Bros. 3
Date: 04-06-2025
Platform: NES (Played on Nintendo Switch Online)

Jan 26 - Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (Switch) : One of my favorites Castlevanias. Nice story/characters, challenge and very pleasant to explore. Although the lack of tips make some missions, especially a very important one, a bit confusing to figure. 9.0/10

Jan 29 - Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (Switch) : Another gem from the past. Beautiful/creative levels and the challenge is fair to beat the main story, but diabolical to get all the extras. I still think that the villains have poor design and lack charisma. 8.5/10

Feb 06 - Ninja Gaiden II Black (PS5): Despite the repetitive nature of a hack n' slash, it doesn't feel boring due to how varied the stages are and also it mixes some platform and exploration elements. Camera/controls are a bit unpolished and the story is weak. 8.0/10

Feb 07 - Haunted Castle Revisited (Switch): A much more pleasant way to play Haunted Castle, but it's something entirely made of a set of old and tired ideas from classic Castlevanias. Can be beaten is less than an hour, so why not? 7.0/10

Feb 13 - Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4): I like the two female protagonists and everything else is polished, beautiful and enjoyable as the previous titles. Not as ambitious though 9.0/10

Feb 21 - Devil May Cry 5 (PS4): Expected much more! Repetitive visuals, boring level design and very cringe writing. Although not very memorable, there are some cool gimmicks and it was entertaining enough to keep going for about 9 hours. 6.5/10

Feb 25 - Wario Land 4 (Switch online): An interesting and simple platform game that mix puzzle and exploration elements. It tries to be its own thing, not a Super Mario Bros. clone. I enjoyed it, but it somewhat lacks that Nintendo magic. 7.5/10

Mar 02 - New Pokémon Snap (Switch): I enjoyed the N64 original and this one as well. I was very entertained going after the best shot possible and trying to find hiding Pokémons. However, I found it a bit too long for its repetitive structure. 8.0/10

Mar 13 - Cadence of Hyrule (Switch): Close to a conventional 2D Zelda to my surprise (I was expecting a pure music/rhythm game), but with a rhythmic combat. Lovely experience. I thought that some items are a bit underused, but everything else is top notch. 9.0/10

Mar 25 - Suikoden II (Switch): Fantastic plot and characters, but inventory and party management are terrible. Severely hinders the pace of an otherwise great game. 7.5/10

Mar 27 - Pikmin (Switch): First time beating this and I think it aged very well! The only annoying thing is the Pikmin AI. They don't follow you with extreme precision and get distracted very easily. 8.5/10

Apr 15 - God of War Ragnarok (PS5): Just WAY too long for such repetitive gameplay structure. Get's really tedious!  And what should've been the plot pinnacle, is soooo disappointing. In my opinion, the worst God of War ever. 6.0/10

Apr 18 - Astro Bot's Playroom (PS5): As fun, polished and captivating as the most recent one, but shorter. I don't know why I took so long to play something that came for free (and is so great) on my PS5. 9.0/10

Apr 19 - A Short Hike (Switch): Feels like Mario 64 mixed with Animal Crossing. So fun and relaxing to explore the little island set and interact with the characters. It's way WAY too short though. Can be beaten is less than 2 hours 8.0/10

Apr 21 - Crow Country (Switch): A homage to survival horror classics, but not quite as remarkable and not even slightly scary. Shooting is terrible due the poorly designed aim, but the plot works and the old fashion puzzles are interesting enough 7.0/10

Apr 27 - Ori and the blind forest (Switch): Behind all the cutesy, hides a really challenge metroivania that will gonna kick our a**, but although frustrating sometimes it's a very enjoyable experience and have a beautiful world to explore 8.0/10

May 09 - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5): Probably the best RPG I ever played in my life. Fantastic cast, plot, set, battle system (although the learning curve is a bit high) and a fenomenal soundtrack, that I keep whistling all the time 10/10

May 17 - Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Switch): Best Kirby game I've played. Still easy, but not overly simple like most of the series games and the level design and mechanics are great. I think that the plot/characters are forgettable 8.5/10

May 21 - Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King (Switch): It's a very good Zelda clone gameplay wise, but it's kinda devoid of personality. Too heavily inspired by Zelda. 7.5/10

May 22 - Kamiko (Switch): This is basically a 4 dungeon run, that resembles a short and simplified version of those of Zelda. It's was a very short fun experience, but playing it once is enough 7.5/10

May 25 - Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Switch): A slightly more refined and less difficulty (still challenging) experience than the first game, but it's more of the same. Still great though. 8.0/10

June 2 - Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo (Switch): A very interesting and original take on the Zelda formula, featuring a very fun and charismatic urban world. Can be a bit hard and frustrating sometimes 9.0/10

June 8 - Bowser's Fury (Switch): Very interesting mix of the Mario 64 formula and open world structure. Not very ambitious, but it's fun, a nice extra for the base game. I wished Baby Bowser partnership was more significant 8.0/10

June 13 - Mario Kart World (Switch 2): It's fun, because Mario Kart is fun. However, 24 racers at the same time was too chaotic for me. I wish Nintendo does an update to better balance the online matches. Also, open world needs more interesting activities. 7.5/10

June 15 - Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (N64): Mechanics, especially camera, are kinda rough, but I love the characters, soundtrack and this Japanese 80's series vibes. Pretty good, if you can get around these typical early 3D games features. 8.5/10

June 25 - Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (Switch Online): It's classic 2D Zelda, which is good, but it has a few features that i don't like: some unintuitive puzzles and vague information to aid progress. Have to pause all the time to switch items is irritating too . 7.0/10

July 07 - Onimusha: Warlords (Switch): First time playing it. Basically classic RE formula in feudal Japan, with less complex puzzles and hack'n slash combat. Unskippable cutscenes sucks and one particular sliding puzzle almost make me drop it. 7.5/10

August 07 - Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2): It's a joy to break and dig the scenarios after the bananas and it has one the best ending sequences Nintendo ever done. Full of nostalgia. The OST is a bit weak and going after all collectibles can be exhausting. 9.0/10

August 09 - Split Fiction (Switch 2): Great co-op gameplay with very creative, intuitive and out of the box mechanics, bogged down by a terrible narrative, kinda soulless worlds and an unbearable duo of protagonists. 8.0/10

August 12 - Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (Switch): A not too ambitious but amazingly done 2D retro experience. Still challenging, but brings all the ''quality of life'' features of modern game design, so it's doesn't feel too punitive or discouraging. 9.0/10

August 14 - Arcade Archives: Sunset Riders (PS4): First time ever playing it. Feels like a relic of the past, not too exciting anymore. Mechanics and level design are kinda dated and it's VERY hard and punitive. Thankfully this version has infinite continues. 6.0/10

August 19 - Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny (Switch): Very similar to first game, even in quality equivalence. Both gave good classic RE gameplay, but also bland characters/narrative and fixed camera angles are still problematic, especially during boss battles. 7.5/10

August 24 - Celeste(Switch): Great platform, with a very original plot, which addresses mental health and self-confidence. I had a good time, but also a will to smash the controller on the wall a few times. Some sequences can be overly difficult. 8.5/10

August 26 - Sword of the Sea (PS5): One those cult art games a la Journey. The gameplay mechanics are fun and it looks beautiful, but gets a bit repetitive even being a very short game. Also, the narrative is weak and underdeveloped. 7.5/10
