Troubling PS3 news

There are rumors going around that the games may only be used on ONE console. The console they are oriinally played for.

Hopefully this is just a rumor because i don't see how that makes even the tiniest bit of good buisness sense.

God I hope Sony does this because it is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Gamestop and EB Games make more money on USED games then new one. I hope Gamestop and EB type stores stop carring PS games if this happens.

Then again soon after the system is released a mod or bootdisc will me made to by pass the problem.

I don't think that Sony is that stupid.  This would alienate so many retailers that this would never happen.  I guess this would sort of make sense for PC games, but not for console games.

my question is, if they do this, what happens if you own more than 1 PS3, or if your first one breaks (we know sony's track record)....if the damn system you paid for breaks, will you not be able to play all the $50-60 games you paid for.....ppl would be furious if they had to buy another $400 system plus say $1000 worth of games that they already own....

....i say sony will never do this......if they do.....then that will be the end of the playstation

Tony is right. If your PS3 breaks or something, then you are shit out of luck. Doing this would probably be enough to trun even the most loyal Sony fanboy against them in my opinion.

How has sony been stupid if I remember correctly unless I have been out of it for the past ten years they have been the market leader when it comes to console sales for 2 generations now. Other then faulty hardware how have they been stupid or are you people just mixing them up with Nintendo?

How's that even work? It doesn't make much sense. The game tunes itself to your system and won't work on any other? Something fishy about this, I don't buy it. I also won't buy it.
