Whats funny about this is I thought it was coming out late in the year anyways. I had no idea they wanted a spring release.

TOKYO - Sony will put off the release of its much awaited PlayStation 3 console until November from its planned spring debut because of delays in finalizing its next-generation optical disc technology, the company said Wednesday.

I hope this is not for the story we heard about, the one that only lets you play a game on one PS3 therefore no used games.

Kutaragi said Sony is still trying to finalize the copyright protection technology and other standards for the Blu-ray DVD disc, the format for PlayStation 3, and next-generation video for the company's electronics gadgets in the works.

I think it is funny for one rease. Every major game and game console has delays.  :-/

I wish more people where like 3D Realms and not give a date but unlike 3D Realms and actually release the item.

If my pattern stays true to form with the current generation of systems, I probably won't be getting a PS3 until at least 2 yrs after getting a 360 (which I still don't own).

I don't count on buying a PS3 until way down the road.
I might get one as a gift but other than that i can't see myself buying one now.

I dunno maybe by the time the thing is launching i will care more.
For example: The only reason i really ended up wanting a 360 was to resell it for a huge profit on eBay
I want it more now than i did then. But still not enough to warrant getting one.
