I've had to reinstall Zone Alarm because it was being gimpy and kept crashing, cutting my internet connection off. Now that I've installed it again all the settings are back to default and I can't get onto MSN.  grrr

Zone Alarms is pretty sweet but way to overprotective.

It causes almost as much trouble as it does help it seems.

It's great once I've got all the settings the way I want them. But something's happened to my laptop, possibly after uninstalling WindowBlinds, and it's not running right. Perhaps time to swap the important stuff over to my desktop PC then reformat it. I like when my computers seem fresh and new.

I've had window blinds screw up my computer before.  I don't trust that program.
And if you have a router then Zone Alarm is pretty much worthless.

Why aren't there any Christmas cards saying "Go fuck yourself"? The nearest I could find was "Hope your Christmas happiness snowballs!" Oh, well. I'm sure they'll get the message when they don't get a card.

Greeeeeat. My laptop's optical disc drive isn't working at all, so I've spent an hour backing up all the important stuff on it for no reason. I can't reformat it now. Could I connect the laptop hard drive to my desktop just to reinstall windows, or would there be a hardware compatibility problem? I already have my laptop hard drive connected to the desktop as a slave.

You've Been Framed is on and you can tell they're struggling for new stuff because all the years in the home videos have been blurred out.

Whoops, the forum was brought out of Maintenance Mode before the forum's mods were finished being installed... oops.
Oh well, it appears that it caused no harm.

Problem solved. I butchered my sister's old laptop from 2001 to get the DVD-ROM out. I had to take it half apart to get at a screw under the keyboard to let the drive slip out. Works fine now. I'm just worried about a little scratch I noticed on the top side of the recovery disc.
