Those are awesome. I love how they show you that "model" home with a computer laugh that isn't even hooked up.

Who are they trying to fool?

Wow.  Just wow.
I was honestly shocked to see that Pyongyang had a working subway system.

I dunno, I sense those comments are a bit on the "Korea is still one big farmland" stereotype side.

What I mean is, I have a hunch that even if those pics are legit, those comments are false and more based on a stereotyped NK.  Wink

That realy tall building was to be a 100+ story hotel with something like 7 revolving restaurants at the top.  It was never completed because the concrete wasn't structurally up to the challenge of supporting a 100+ story building.  Had it been completed, it would have been in the top ten talest buildings of the time.  The funny thing about it is, the government denys every trying to build such a building; they don't want to admit a failure.  If anyone wants more information on it, i believe it's caled the Ryongong or something similar. I'm sure wikipedia has something to say about it.

edit:  i got curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryugyong_Hotel

I forgot to include that link in my post. LOL

I have read a few different things on that hotel.

Couple examples - It can hold more people then they aloow to visit the the country in a year.

It cost 2% of North Korea's GDP.
