Here is mine. I work for the Royal Mail, the nationalised UK postal service. I'd just got Medal of Honor Rising Sun, for the PS2, and loaded it up.

What did I do?

I'll confess it now.................

Rather than run  out of the burning ship and play the game, I said to myself "oh wow - it's a mail room, on the ship - it must be a sorting office"

I then proceeded to take a virtual tour of the sorting office, and tried to see how it was set up, and forgot all about playing  the game at all, for several minutes.

I guess this one works... When I play Caesar 3 I say screw the starving people. I just want to trade with other cities and fill my warehouses full of goods. My Sims experience goes as far as actually playing the game without cheating (I'm under the impression that doesn't happen often) and importing stuff I made that matches crap I actually own. I recreated the first house I ever lived in...lol

well this is kind of nerdy. on my copy of NHL 96 for the Sega Genesis I created players for myself, my wife and a bunch of my friends. My wife and I play for the Red Wings, I of course am the leading scorer and all my buds are on other teams.

I've named players in sports games after my friends too, but the nerdiest thing that I have done is refer to characters in video games as if they are real people to people that have no idea what I'm talking about.  Example:
Hey Mike what did you do today?
I took Cecil and Rosa to Baron today

Back in '99 when I got NFL2K, I re-created the entire football team from my high school with the create-a-player feature in the game.  Their uniforms, names, numbers, sizes, and positions all matched.  I guess I was pretty bored at the time.

I collect videogames. I buy them, catalogue them and then put them on a shelf in alphabetical order.

But we also all name video game characters to people we know Wink

I also find myself doing the opposite quite often.  Rather than just naming characters I create in my games after people I know, I often "name" people I see walking down the street after video game characters they resemble.

I do both of those and I talk about life as if it were a game. I've actually used "I got caught up fighting Gannon" as an excuse for being late.

There was this really slutty girl I knew, and I told Mike that she was "easier than Devil May Cry 2."

I also told someone (it may have been my ex-girlfriend) that she was more beautiful than 1024 x 768 with anti-aliasing running at 60fps.

WOW.  You've never told me that one.  Reading it made me laugh out loud.
