If you know the make and model you should be able to go to the Manufacturer's website to download the drivers / software. HP is especially good with this.

Ok so I found a program on the net that converts picture files, so I converted the .tif to jpeg all by myself!  Awesome!   razz

You should be able to change what type of image file the scans are saved as.  That being said, .TIFF images are actually higher quality that .JPEG.  TIFF is a "lossless" format, meaning the image is compressed, but none of the image's information is lost.  A JPEG image will lose quality every time it is saved.   Most browsers support TIFF, and the microsoft image viewer can also support it through an upgrade.

Nice work Kevincal. Nice to see you got a scanner just for the site. That is the same reason I got one.

Here's what you *could* do. You *could* download a copy of Photoshop from one of those horrible internet fileshare programs. Photoshop has pretty much all the software you'll need to use your scanner in whatever way you please. Of course, that would be stealing a perfectly affordable $700 software package. You could also be persecuted or ostracized, as no one downloads copyrighted material in this righteous and God-loving country.

Also, remember that while TIFF files are lossless, they are exponentially larger in size.

Thanks, but actually I got the all-in-one scanner/printer for Xmas a year and a half ago, but at that time my sister was in college, so I loaned it to her for a long time. Then I came to this site and wanted to start helping submit information and scans, so I realized I had a use for the scanner and snagged it back from her.  Smiley

@ Evil Lion.  I actually figured out how to change it from TIFF to JPEG with the help of people from this site.  It was really easy.  It's just that I had never had a scanner before so all of this is new to me.

Ha!  Thanks and ya I have scanned about 7 or 8 complete games.  It is a bit tedious but kinda fun at the same time. Wink
