This has never happened to me before so i dont know what could be the cause of it .
When i had it plugged it in a finished hooking up the system by the time i had it all hooked up i went to turn it on and it didnt then i smelt the plug burning. So i pulled it out but it had already melted a section about the size of a dime and it was too hot to touch.

are you sure it is the right plug. I think that the genesis one and the genesis two used differant power supplies

They do use different supplies but i am also pretty sure that they have different plug sizes.

Man thats wierd. Could have just have been some kind of wierd power surge. I've got like 8 seperate Sega AC adapters just lying around here and I dont even know how that happened.

Thats strange because i found my old Genesis, and hooked it up (its been about four to six years since it saw the light of day) and i never had that problem...
