this does not pertain to launch. i was just wondering which one would end up selling more to RFG members.
i plan on buying a Wii 6 months after launch so the bugs are all worked out, hopefully. but the ps3.... i dont know. i expect it to have too many bugs to be worked out. i will be buying a ps2 sometime real soon and will just stick with that. if there was another thread already like this... sorry, i must have missed it.

We've had similar things but I don't remember them being this specific.

If I buy one, it'll be a PS3, but I probably won't buy either for a long time.

Nothing about the Wii appeals to me. I hate my Gamecube and I don't see the Wii as being any different.

I've grown up with a PS1 and 2. But I'm not a Sony fanboy any more. I'm not too sure about the PS3. If it lasts long enough to come down in price by a half (£200) I'll get one. I've never had a console in it's first year. Price, lack of games, and bugs put me off. I like what the PS3 offers but I don't want to spend a lot on features I can't currently use, high definition.

I don't think I'll have a high definition TV for a long time. The TVs I've had in my room have been hand-downs from the lounge. I've had my current TV for 8 or 9 years and the only problem I've had was when I left the GTA3 pause screen on for a few hours. The image was frozen onto the screen. Of course, it went away once I turned the TV off and left it off for a while. So, as long as that TV lasts, I'm not getting a HDTV.

I had to vote for both, but the Wii will come first. As a collector, I know I will get a PS3 eventually. But as tynstar said, it probably wont be until a few major price drops. I am so back logged on gaming, that I probably wont get a Wii until about this time next year.

Not for a while. I haven't seen any games for both of them that I'm interested in. Eventually I probably will though.

As much as I talk about getting a Wii at launch, I probably won't, just for many of the reasons already said...working out bugs, price drops, and getting "caught up" on other systems...don't know why, but the PS3 scares me a bit...guess I'm being influenced by the bad press it seems to be getting...

I'll likely get the Wii eventually...probably when it drops to $150 or less.

I don't know that I'd ever get a PS3 because I don't know that the price would ever drop down to the $150 or less mark for it to be worth my while. If it does reach that price point, though, I'd consider it...but it would depend on the quality of the games available and if they interest me. I'm thinking 2010.

I'm going to buy both.  A Wii at launch and the PS3 after the price drops quite a bit.
