I'm pretty livid at the moment. Every time I pre-order since I've lived in Winnipeg I -never- get the promo items. Apparently nobody in the city does. I've talked to quite a few EB employees at stores around the city and they usually don't send stuff our way. It ends up in the states and Ontario and then on ebay. I called to complain and they pretty much told me to go fuck myself. I'm tired of this shit. Now I'll be forced to pay prolly $20 on ebay to get the Tales of Abyss art cell. I never got my Dragon Quest Rocket Slime keychain, I never got a lot of things. Why sent a shitload to stores in the states if the pre-orders aren't in and screw us over up here? I think I'll be buying my games from other places from now on.

I know exactly what you mean. What i wouldn't do to actually have a Canadian owned store I could buy my games from, someone who knows our market and doesn't look at us like a foreign export number.  Tongue

Would you expect anything less from a shitty franchise?

There's only one locally owned store that I know of around here and they overcharge something fierce. I'm just gonna get stuff from Future Shop from now on I think. Wait till it's on sale...

As far as future pre-orders go: guys that can snag stuff from work, I'm willing to pay for shipping and pay you $5 for your trouble. I just bought the damn Tales of Abyss art cell for $5 from ebay (hey I'm desperate).

*Rob Schneider* Oh no, we suck again *Rob Schneider*

I have only been "wronged" twice by EB/Gamestop. Once, I got "roboteched*" and anothermore recently, I pre-ordered the 360 and did not get it until months later. Of course knowing what I know now, I should have just waited until later for a 360 anyhow.

*Roboteched = My Premium edition of the PS2 version was sold to a customer who did not pre-order the item. Luckily the EB across the street had 1 extra copy.

Most people in Atlantic Canada avoid EB like the plague and prefer to buy their games from places like Futureshop (best buy) or Zellers, as a last resort when all else fails and ebay is too expensive then you go to EB to see if the 50/50 chance works out in your favor. Here they can't even tell you if they will even get the pre-order bonus at all until the shipment comes in on release day and they can look in the box Tongue Since we've never had Gamestop here before i have no idea how the merger will affect Canadians, though i'm seeing Gamestop branded junk on the shelves of EB now so i think we'll find out soon enough.

I never had problems with Gamestop so maybe things will change soon. I too have been seeing Gamestop stuff appearing for about the past month or so. Still I think they'll continue to ship extra stuff to stores in the states and give us nothing.

Wow, I just read that you guys are not able to camp out for a Wii Preorder until Monday. Have fun with that, I know I did.

Yea I didn't do it. I'd camp for a Wii but over my dead body would I camp just to pre-order. I don't have the loot for one now anyway. Our cat got sick and had to be rushed to the emergency vet. He's fine now but after the hospital stay overnight, test costs, take-home injections... $900 later he's better but my game money went *poof*  My brother says he'll buy me one so we'll just try to get one on launch. We managed to get a 360 at a store folks around here usually don't consider so we'll try there first Wink

You know cat's are great and you get attached to them and they love you and you love them and everybody loves everybody, but at a $900 price tag for keeping a cat...I'd probably just call it totaled and get a new cat for like $50, or free.
