since we have had many talks about the DC being superior to other systems. i have had the time to buy and play the xbox and ps2 and make a good comparison between them and the almighty Dreamcast. as before i never really played them and was going on what little i had played. this is my conclusion:

xbox: wow is all i have to say. i never thought i would like the xbox at all. originally i bought it for the wife and i kinda got hooked. i like it like i like the DC. i see it as what the sequel to the DC would have been. the graphics are slightly similar and are as smooth. with DC using a windows processor and microsoft owning windows... could that have been how the xbox idea got started? also the controller... the slots on the top for memory cards are common on both.

ps2: hate it hate it. the graphics have pauses/glitches/delays... whatever you want to call them, that keep the graphics from running smoothly just like the ps1 is, which i also hate as well, example being when the charecter is running how it sometimes pauses to sort of catch up with itself. never had that problem with DC. and the only reason i purchased either playstation was for the final fantasy games and a few other rpgs.

i'll have another one like this for you in a while. i am working on getting a GBA, DS Lite, and a Nomad. then i shall do my support of the sega game gear being superior. but i think that may change wen i get a sega nomad. until then i would like to hear your rebutel.

Sounds like you have crappy playstation's or creative eyesight.

Sigh, I'm always coming out as the Sony fanboy. But I just can't understand the haters.

Actually the Xbox is a direct decendant of the DC Wink

MS and Sega had a falling out of sorts.
I am fuzzy on the details but DC and PC games were supposed to be extremely easy to port from one to the other.
I am pretty sure many of the original Team Xbox members also worked on a team for the DC.

Good to hear your finally moving up though Smiley
Always fun to try no systems even if it is just to find out that you hate them.

As for the shitty graphics on the PS2 games it really depends on who made the game and how recent it is.

Earlier releases for PS2 were pretty lame.
Crash Bandicoot Wrath of cortex had like 2 minute loading screens before every level :-/
Longer than it took to play a bunch of the levels :-/

both or my ps's are in perfect condition throughout. another example of what i mean is like in soul calibur 2 sometimes the swords image will seperate, the top half will be a few pixels too high ---__

i didn't know that. so in a way sega has made another system just under a different name. sort of.

The jaggies on the PS2 are bad. But like Anthony said you can get some very nice looking game.

Do you use a PC monitor to play your DC?
