Finally something more than a release date to confirm it's existance, I've been waiting for this game for months now, it's why I bought a DS in the first place.

Yeah, I thought it was a mirage on Kotaku when I saw it. I hope it is freaking awesome.

It seems like I'm one of the only people that hated the first Diddy Kong Racing with a passion...  Especially the cheap ass boss at the end...  ugh. Diddy Kong Racing was the only game on the N64 that I ever got rid of, and that says alot when I kept games like Off Road Challenge, South Park Rally and War Gods...   I'm still tempted to play this DS title, just to see if they've improved it any.

I think there are plenty who hate it, there's always allot of Diddy versus Mario Kart discussions. It's a matter of preference I guess, and the DS versions of both will become hotly debated topics as well, once this game comes out it might make a good chat topic.

Yikes!  HATE Diddy Kong Racing!?!?  I bought Mario Kart 64 the day it came out and thoroughly enjoyed it until Diddy Kong Racing came out of nowhere.  I was really really impressed with Diddy Kong racing.  The story mode was superb.  I do know what you are saying about some of the bosses like the octopuss and Wiz Pig...but even still they were beatable after not too many tries.

Holy crap! That one really snuck up on me.

I've always been more of a Mario Kart guy, but I'd like to give DKR a chance this time. Looking forward to playing some of you online. Smiley

Heh, I was disapointed when Mario Kart 64 came out. The whole game had a cheap rushed feel to it, and was really unbalanced. The A.I. was incredibly cheap, and the stages were too long, and poorly designed. They made the acceleration on the carts too fast, so hitting walls, and getting nailed by shells didn't really matter as much as it used to, which I think, killed the competitive edge in multiplayer races. The only replay value it had to me, was playing four player battle on that one large course with the four colored buildings (the name of the course slipped my mind). That was the only thing that really kept me going back...   it's still nowhere near as lame as Double Dash though.  ...  ugh, don't get me started on that PoS.

The only Mario Karts I really like are the original (of course), Super Circut, and Mario Kart DS.

I hated Diddy Kong racing, but it did have enough playability to make me want to finish the game. What really made me hate that game so much was the cheap A.I., and those last courses with Wiz Pig. Those last course were pretty evil, and that damn pig laughing the entire time didn't really help any either...   someone would have to pay me to complete that game again.

Great news!  Looks like I may be getting one of my most anticipated titles of 2007 sooner than I thought. Smiley
