Starting tomorrow, Xbox Live members will be able to download, for free, a special HD version of the South Park episode ‘Good Times with Weapons'. Unfortunately, due to restrictions from Comedy Central, South Park in HD will only be available in English (with no options for sub-titles) in the following Xbox Live regions: United States, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. This will be available simultaneously for both Gold and Silver members in those regions. Remember it goes live tomorrow and will be up for two-weeks, so don't wait until the last minute to grab it. I don't have the exact time it will release, but it should be a little after 12m PT.

I haven't watched the show in over 10 years, but I thought there was no sense not letting everyone else know. In this digital extortion age it's refreshing to see something not cost anything. Such treats are few and far between so cherish them.  laugh

Maybe they just haven't translated it into your language yet.  laugh

Seriously though, that seems to happen allot. And I can understand your frustration, it's well founded.

Oi'll ave yoo no we aven'ed vuh lanwidge an yoo lot jus' massed it oowl oop.

It's probably some stupid broadcasting rights problem. I don't know who owns the rights to South Park here these days. Probably MTV or some other crap channel I don't watch. There's been a bit of a squabble between BSkyB and Virgin Media because Virgin was trying to acquire the rights to some shows for its own channels, so Sky cut off their channels to other broadcasting networks. There's a very proffessional message from Virgin on what used to be Sky One: "Thanks to Sky, you are no longer able to receive this channel. We believe this is because Sky want to limit their customer's choice while Virgin Media is working for consumer's rights" etc.

If one network/channel buys the rights to a programme they generally have ALL the rights to it in this country. There are a few programmes you can see on a couple of different channels but it's usually three or four seasons behind the other one.

Good episode, I've got it somewhere (Oh, look, I got it for free)

10 years? It hasn't even been on for ten years...and it still costs something.

Yes indeed it has. 1997 was the first year it was on. Damn does anyone else remember the ads for "Jimmy Ray" that used to air with the show? He sure was a flavor of the week artist.
