the Turbo Grafx..... my favorite system.

i really love the turbo grafx 16/cd/duo. i think its the best thing ever. most of the games are really fun. there are a few that suck. im down to my last 12 games for the tg-16 and my last 7 for the tg-cd. some of the games are a bit pricey. for example i paid $50 for neutopia 2 booklet/hu card/sleeve, and its the best $50 ive ever spent. this game and its prediscessor neutopia are basicly zelda clones but more in the style of the snes zelda. and for the tg-cd the games: ys book 1 & 2, ys 3: wander's from ys, and exile are awesome rpgs. most of the games for the tg-16 are shooters. so if you like shooters this is the system for you. games like air zonk, aero blasters, super star soldier, ordyne, r-type, etc are all good shooters with many more to name. i have yet to play any duo games as i dont have a duo or a system 3.0 card, but id like to have either or. preferably the card first. luckily most of the expensive tg-16 games i was able to aquire cheaply. games ike: bonk 3: bonk's bigadventure, air zonk, military madness, bomberman, bomberman '93, and Order of the griffon.

I love the TG16 and have never played one. Sounds kinda weird but this is the system I have always wanted and over the weekend one fell into my lap. Now I have to find a ac adapter with the right voltage. No luck so far on the adapter front. Anyone know of a adapter for another system or appliance with same voltage etc. ? I'm really itching to play this system.

My duo has a very strange adaptor that I've never seen before. I don't know if the TG16 used the same one or not, but I've never seen another one like it.

I've always heard that the NES adapter worked for the TG-16, but can't confirm that.
I just got one a few months ago, and already have a decent start on a library of games for it. There are some real gems on this console that not too many people have ever had the chance to play, but there are of course some real lame titles as well, that are played until I can't laugh anymore, and stuck back in there case never to be played again.

Blazing Lazers is the game that sold me, really.

Blazing Lasers is a sweet game. The power ups kind of throw it off though. They almost make you untouchable, but without them you get slaughtered.
The things that kinda bug me are the Turbo Booster, and the lack of multiplayer games. The Turbo Booster is huge, and the picture quality and sound isn't as good as it should be when using it. I have a Turbotap, but out of 17 games, I only have two that are more than one player. It seems like since there was only one controller port for this console, most companys only made one player games for it, and the Turbotap was barely ever used. Still these are minor bickerings.

Yeah that does seem kind of shady to me where you need a multitap device to play with more than one person. They should have done what 3DO did and daisy-chain the controllers together.
The J-Cart thing for Genesis was pretty neat too, but I guess that wouldn't work out right with the hu-cards.

True. the nes shares identical rf and power adapters.
the main games that got me were: neutopia, neutopia 2, shockman, tricky kick, air zonk, cadash, blazing lazers, super star soldier, alien crush, and the list goes on. and the cd games arent half bad either. some really great rpgs are on the tg-cd: ys book 1 & 2, ys 3 wanderers from ys, exile, and vasteel. ever since i got my tg-16 i was hooked instantly. all my other systems got played less and less and the tg got played more and more. now thats basicly all i play besides my gbsp. some of the games may be really expensive ($150-$300+) but they are really fun and the replay value is worth it. plus the value can only go up with this sort of thing.

Got the TG16 to work with a sega cd adapter. I love playing this system. Ordyne, and Bonk's Adventure are my two favorites right now.

I'd love to have one of those kiosks RadioShack used to have for the TG16.

I didn't know that they made a TG-16 Kiosk. I bet one of those would be hella hard to get ahold of, especially if they were only distributed to Radio Shack.

If I'm not mistaken RadioShack was the official retailer for the TurboGrafx, I imagine they had plenty of goodies.. Even just the front bezel artwork from the kiosk would be awesome to have.

i just got vasteel and monster lair for the tg-cd. they are ok. vasteel i got for a vaSTEEL. (poor shot at a joke). lol. monster lair is cool. its a good shooter. i thougt it was going to be an action/adventure type game. and i am bidding on a system 3.0 card so i can finally play my tg-duo and import super cd-rom2 games. its onna set me back a hundred at least. so far its at $76. if it stays there would be sweet. i swear i have basicly quit playing all my other systems and have solely been playing the tg.
