Have you tried contacting NOA.  If they cannot do it I'm sure there are some licensed nintendo repairers somewhere that they could point you too.

Might be cheaper to get a loose system off ebay. Try to get one with out the eye hood or whayever you want to call it. Maybe get it real cheap that way.

I agree with tynstar. Otherwise, just take it apart and see if there is a bulb? that can be replaced.

I have one where one of the eye pieces is a mess.  Some games the picture is not there in one eye and some games there are all kinds of horizontal red lines.  I saw a faq online somewhere that showed a common problem the VB had that could be fixed with some scotch tape and a conventional oven (no joke).  I'll poke around and see if I can find a link to it and post it here.

Got it!

http://www.virtual-boy.or...b/projects/DisplayFix.htm

Phew!  Took me a little longer than I thought it would to get it, but sure enough its there.  I haven't tried this myself yet, I haven't had the courage to take apart my half-working VB in fears that if I really screw it up I'll have to buy another one and I'm really not too much of a fan of the system to begin with.  If you end up trying this, let us know how it comes out and if its a good fix, I'll give it a shot with my unit.

Whoa! Yeah i remember reading this awhile back. I know it can't be that on my VB because on my screen the picture shows up fine its just that on the bottom right side where the picture focus goes off and on. it does the same on all my games. i could be wrong though but i wont really know till i take it apart. but if it turns out to be the problem you have. I will be the lab rat and i will try the oven method. ill let you know as soon i i take it apart.
