This is mainly for Shimra, but Nintendo bought 80% of Monolith today.

Hello good RPG developer, welcome to Nintendo, have you met Intelligent Systems?

Suddenly, Nintendo has two really good RPG companies, and they also are that... uh, Pokemon company.

Wait a minute? Is this the same Monolith that did No One Lives Forever?

EDIT: Neverrmind. It's not that one. You got my hopes up for nothing. Sad

I'd rather have No One Lives Forever on Wii...or anything.

If Sony had bought them you would all be gnashing your teeth.

In anycase I was never a fan of weird console RPGs, FFVII was the only one I ever got into, I played a little FF8 but it got retarded after a point.

Personally I could care less who buys them as they don't make games that interest me much anyway. But to be honest I think Sony would make better use of them than Nintendo would. The style of games they make tend to reflect more favorably under Sony Machines. Nintendo has plenty of 2nd parties who they make little good use of outside those core franchises as it is. I doubt all those Xenosaga fans will get the Episode IV they were hoping for if at all.

Some people like JRPGs some don't. I can tell you though that most players of JRPGs  play for the story and characters. Take Final Fantasy 6 for example, amazing story, kickass plot twist, probably the most insane villain ever. Also see Skies of Arcadia, the story may be cliche but it has the most outstanding cast of characters in any RPG to date. Anyway the general consensus is that FF8 is regarded by many fans of the series as one of the worst Final Fantasys.

And in actually if Sony bought Monolith I would not be gnashing my teeth whatsoever. I'd be like, ehh.
