IMO Genesis

Someone who has played it on every system can argue if they want.

The original Mortal Kombat on SNES was the only bloodless one.  Instead of blood you had sweat.  All the other MK's had blood, fatalities, etc.

^ lolz

In anycase if you have the 6 button
Genny controller there is A,B,C,X,Y,Z, start
SNES controller has A,B,X,Y, start, select, L,R

1)High Punch
2Low Punch
3)High Kick
4)Low kick
5)Block
6)Pause

If memory serves a those are the only buttons used...
Oh wait there may have  been a run button on SNES...
If there was on genny you tapped left/right 2x to run.
1 buttons doesn't make a huge difference.

On the old MK games where you only had ABC and the same number of move combos it was a real issue.

EDIT
In hind site.
Pick up one of the Midway Arcade Classic compilations.
I believe UMK3 is on one of them...

Being seperated from my mortal kombat stuff is destroying my memory :-/
I can't even remember for sure what variants i own and don't own in some cases Cry
