Oblivion. It really is the only game in the series that I have played for a long period of time.

I picked morrowind, but frankly I hated the game. At first I thought it was beautifull. The towns and cities felt huge beyond comparison, the magic system, and the scope of the world around it. It was all so incredable. Then I got my first dirty disc error. Checked the disc, nothing. Then I keep getting more, the game would freeze, and even after they released the platinum edition on the x-box, it kept happening. I eventualy found out it had much to do with the size of your game's save size, but combine those with the overtly easy ways to exploit the magic and how you could literaly make a walking god, it killed the enjoyment for me. I tried daggerfall at a friend house a few times, but back then I wasnt able to afford a computer to play it. By the time I was able to, that game had gone to the wayside long ago, much like the game stonekeep which I refuse to get rid of simply because I want to play the damn thing so much even if I cant due to my comp's OS not playing games that old.

The Morrowind GOTY edition solved the freeze up issues on the Xbox version.

I wish......
It fixed many many problems, but many problems still exist including freeze-ups. Not as bad as it was but bad enough that preventative steps need to be taken.

Like throwing your X-Box off the nearest cliff and plugging Morrowind into your PC.

True enough. Except of course the fact that in 20 years I'll break out a fresh new Xbox from storage and play these games all over again, I wish I could say the same with the PC version, even games less than 10 years old are getting harder to run on XP/Vista.

I dunno, for it's time Morrowind was probably the best. I played it the most. Oblivion was awesome but the story was dumbed down a bit too much. I voted for Daggerfall just because it rocks so hard except for the horrible controls

PC gamers don't see 20 years down the road. By then we'll have been killed by our overexposure to computer screens.

Nice
At the same time a constant invisibility enchantment takes care of both of those pics

I think I had a mod that severely reduced, or possibly eliminated, the numbers of those fucking things.

Being a new member here, I missed this poll, but my vote would have been cast for Morrowind. I agree with many of the comments that have been thus far, including the opinion that Oblivion was 'dumbed down' a bit. The graphics of Oblivion are awesome, and I have played through it a few times and all the DLC and Shivering Isles. Though my experience with Oblivion was great, overall I found Morrowind to be better.
The fighting in Oblivion was definitely improved, but having a 'radar' that visually depicted on your map areas of interest that were approaching killed a great aspect of Morrowind - the element of surprise and enthusiasm when finding a new location. The 'fast travel' option in Oblivion was nice, but a happy medium could have been forged with the tedious method of boat/bug/guild travel in Morrowind.
The side quests in MW were better as well - in originality as well as quantity. The expansion packs including in the GOTY edition absolutely rocked as well (bring back the werewolves!).
Just my two cents.
