Actually, I'm surprised it ISN'T an MMO. But then again, Blizzard may not want to compete against themselves in that market.

looks like I'll probably want to get a nice big 21" monitor to be able to play this one in all its glory.

RE: NekoOtaku

Like Halo, World of Warcraft, or Madden, there are a few people that just love it, and a few that just hate it for the popularity it gets.

I'ld recommend trying the original out to see if you like it.  If you don't like lengthy, prolonged game sessions, you may not enjoy this.  If you like games like RISK, go for it.  The cutscenes were stunning and beautiful in 1998 and are still rewarding for their humor/dramatic content.  Best yet, it will run on just about anything over a Pentium.

I've never played Starcraft either. I know it's an RTS game that a bunch of people happen to go nuts over, but I don't know much else about it.

I'm not too into RTS games, so I probably don't want to give it a shot.

And a new computer.

Starcraft is so unlike RISK that I could write a scathing remark about any comparison of the two. Wink

Also, it seems insane that people haven't played Starcraft at least once.

Also, ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG etc.

Bah. I've skipped many a meal so I could game longer. I have 8-10 hour gaming sessions all the time. Bring it ON.

Huh, after a bit more looking into this, it looks rather interesting. Knowing Blizzard, though, I've probably got a good four, five, ten years to pick up the original game. Tongue

Wow, I guess I'm not the only one this game has consumed.
