Ok I want to ask this in a way that doesnt make anyone upset and so on but im just going to do it.

I have had nothing but grief lately on ebay from not getting stuff I paid for to buyers complaining about auctions I basically gave the stuff away free. I would much rather buy and sell stuff here but it doesnt seem like there a lot of activity.. people are putting stuff on ebay instead. I just got some questions about what could been done to get more trading buying and selling going on here.

Some of the reasons I think more stuff goes to ebay is everyone wants to get maxium money for there stuff. which I understand. but Ive sold a lot of stuff on ebay I lost my shirt on. I just let two ps1 go for 99 cents.

would one reason for ebay be people just dont know what to ask for things.

I think a lot more trading and selling could be done if people put a price on the items  or in the thread put what they wanted in a trade for an item kind of like

loose snes earth bound 40.00 or trade for nes bomberman 2 loose

Im just getting to the point Im sick of ebay but still would like to find stuff im wanting and would like to see the buying selling thread start buzzing.

maybe everyone could post one buying selling thread under there user id so theres not thousands of threads putting prices on their items and prices they are willing to pay for wanted items. what you all think

I think it should be a rule on every forum to add prices to for sale trade.  Even if you start them high, it gives a great starting point to get a trade rolling in the right directions with counter offers.  We are thinking of putting that rule into affect over at NintendoAGE, especially when some of the new features go live.

Good points have been made.  Maybe we could add a field to the DB for items added to a person's "For Sale\Trade" folder for price.  The description field can be used to list what you would trade it for.  Also, doing a search for a certain price range could be performed.  This would be a great undertaking, but I think it does add a great deal of value.

Tyn - For the moment, could we put in some static text that would always appear as a header to one's For Sale\Trade folder to alert members to list prices\trade items in the description field?

That would be a Eddie question.

I have my prices in the comment field. You just need to switch to detailed view.

I also agree that adding prices really helps in getting stuff sold, but at the same time I feel that people don't want to go through the hassle of finding accurate prices, and if we were to make it a rule to always list prices, users may refrain from posting their fs/t lists.  This wouldn't be too much of a problem if we already have a lot of people posting here, but this section of the forums doesn't receive a ton of use by the members, so it may be better to wait with implementing any pricing rule for the time being.
