Is it just me or is there not as much hype about E3 this year? Last year it was insane seems like it was talked about all over the place.

E3 is a shadow of it's former self, I expect GC2007 and the TGS to be much bigger this year. Though E3 will still have a few surprises it's importance will diminish every year. With so much floor space being taken away it's be much less extravagant and fewer companies will be there.

It has shrunk from 60-70,000 down to 5000 this year.

Is that attendance numbers? I thought this year they weren't letting every one in because it was so crowded last year.

Quote
On July 31, 2006, it was announced that the expo would be downsized and restructured and on October 13, 2006 the new format of the show was detailed. Essentially, the E3 "Trade Show" was replaced with a much lower-key and inaccessible event or series of events known as the E3 Media and Business Summit. It will focus on press events and small meetings with media, retail, development, and other key sectors. While there will be opportunities for game demonstrations, E3 2007 will not feature the large trade show environment of previous years.

Now instead of YEAAHHH!!!! it's more like hmm niceTongue

No wonder there has been hardly any talk about it this year.

I'm sure we'll still get tons of coverage from all the webzines out there.

Both the 360 and the PS3 will have E3 coverage on their respective marketplaces as well during the week.

Yea i was pretty sure last years E3 was the last "normal" one.

I thought the larger companies were going to host their own shows for their own stuff now.

Square Enix has released a few release dates for this year:

    * Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS; November 6)
    * Heroes of Mana (DS; August 14)
    * Final Fantasy II (PSP; July 24)
    * Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP; October 9)
    * Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS; November 20)
    * Front Mission (DS; October 23)

Front Mission for DS, now that has my curiosity, I'm a big fan of 3 and 4.  Grin

Most impressive. I don't know that it can beat that STUNNING snow in Resistance Fall of Man though.

Do you have a picture to prove your case? Or are you being sarcastic?

That's in-game. Apparently even in third person the rain will soak the camera as well as change the driving conditions as the road gets wet, same thing with snow. Very Impressive. On top of that heavy rainfalls and snowstorms are random like real weather so one minute your cruising along on a cloudy day with dry roads, the next your in heavy snow with poor visibility and slippery roads.
