I hate to admit it, but I have never played a Final Fantasy game and I have a handful of them. I have just never got around to playing them yet.
( Looks from side to side, shamelessly )

Trying to get into FF X right now to see what all the fuss is about, but it's slow going. I guess I'm just getting tired of all the stereotypical effeminate teenage boy RPG's I guess.
Mass Effect and Two Worlds can't come soon enough.

I voted for IV, as it is the only one that I've played through multiple times. The choice is hard though as almost all of them are a blast to play. I think that VII is overrated, but that is not to say that it isn't a damn fine RPG.

X is a great game, perhaps my favorite story in any RPG. Tidus' emo persona is somewhat justifiable and he grows out of it. That game had one amazing cast of characters.
FFXII is probably the 'best' FF but I personally feel as though it is a bit of a chore to get into. The plot is great but the plot segments are so spread out, and you'll often find yourself doing sidequests more than the actual story so when you finally get back on track you forget what is happening in the story. Also, the characters don't have as much personality as those in the other 'later generation' FFs. Still though, great game.

That's exactly what FF can be described as.

FF X is the one I tried to start with as well. It sucks that you just can't skip the half hour of cut scenes before you get to the gameplay.
I've got Mass Effect reserved. Two Worlds does look to be shaping up to be a good one from what I've seen; hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Everyone needs to start with 7. End of story. Do it.

Been there, beat that.
I think VII is one of those games you beat once then never play it again because once was enough.

Agreed. Beat it once, never touched it since. I'll still maintain that anything post FF6 is overrated. 4, 5, and 6 were incredible. I really had a hard time getting into 7 at first, and it took me a while to get through it.

Is FF7 actually going to get rereleased on PS3 with the revamped graphics?
If so i would be more than willing to get that.
My one of my biggest gripes with FF7 was the graphics and trying to find my way around.

I say yes. It's money in the bank for Square.
