sweet

so den is left and hydro if he wants in.  then we can draft.

who wants to have a random draft or a draft on the boards?

random is were yahoo picks the players for us automatically and i would not know how to conduct a regular draft that we would do ourselves.  if everyone wants to go thru the draft and pick on the boards (here at RFG) then we need to set a date (saturday would be good for me) and maybe sauza or den could be so kind to head it up.  since i dont know what i am doing with it.

trades can also e made throughout the season (regardless of the type of draft we have).  so keep that in mind i guess.  yahoo has break downs of players and defenses also if you want to brush up on who is good to get in the draft or to trade for.

let me know what you guys think.

ps - i hope that nep's team is called "the grammar nazis" Tongue

I would prefer a random draft but if everyone else wants to draft their own players i dont really mind.

it ust seems like it would be easier to have an 'auto draft' (i was calling it a random draft).
i dont think that everyone will have to be online at that time and it will be quick and easy.

The front page of Yahoo says:

Quote
Live Drafts End: 9/30
Full Season Registration Ends: 10/15
All Drafts End: 10/15

I dunno if that means we have to do an auto draft, but that's the impression I got.  Oh, and does the "Edit Pre-Draft Rankings" thing have any bearing on what players are chosen for your team in an auto-pick?

we can do an off-line draft (which would prolly be easiest if done on the RFG boards somehow)
or the auto draft.
as for the pre-draft rankings i dont know.  i'll check it out.

alright, we are going to have an auto-draft.
what you guys need to do is edit your pre-draft list.
goto yahoo fantasy football, then to 'my team', then to 'edit pre-draft list'.
put the players in the order that you want them.  you can take players off the lilst completely also.  or if you feel comfortable with yahoo's rankings you dont have to do a thing.

i want to draft on friday when i get home from work (about 4 - 4:30).
that way we will have some time on saturday to move players iin your rosters and trade if need be.

any questions?
thanks

Yeah, I think an auto draft would be best for now.  If we get a league together next year we can do a live draft.  This should help those that haven't played fantasy football yet.

I would recommend editing pre-draft rankings. Yahoo is usually not very up to date on these and you don't want to get players with long term injuries. I was looking through it and saw Marcel Shipp, Kellen Winslow Jr and Correl Buckhalter ranked. All ar out for the season with injuries.

so just a heads up to look at those rankings and exclude injured guys.

Thanks for the headfs up. I would have assumed long term injured players would not be chooseable.
